Join the Bangkok Pride parade along Silom Road, then slip away by private boat past Wat Arun as the river lights up.
Bangkok in Pride Season

Bangkok Pride takes place each year around the end of May and the start of June. Over several days, the city hosts forums, awards, parties, and performances, building to a parade that draws huge crowds.
It is a celebration with real momentum. Thailand legalised same-sex marriage in 2025, and Bangkok is now campaigning to host WorldPride in 2030.
Pairing the parade with a private evening on the river gives you both sides of the city: the energy of the streets and the calm of the water.
Pride Returns to Silom

Bangkok held Pride marches from the late 1990s, but the event went quiet for many years before it was revived in 2022 by the group Naruemit Pride. Since then, it has grown quickly, with the support of the city government and hundreds of thousands of participants.
Silom Road, the heart of the parade, has long been one of the centres of LGBTQ+ life in Bangkok, with bars, clubs, and restaurants in the side streets around Soi 2 and Soi 4.
The Parade

The parade begins near Khlong Chong Nonsi Park, travels along Silom Road, and continues toward Rama I Road and the shopping district of Siam. Its route covers nearly five kilometres, with themed sections, floats and dancers, and a giant rainbow flag carried along the street.
A spot near Sala Daeng, at the Silom end of the route, is one of the best places to watch. Your host can find you a comfortable vantage point and somewhere to retreat to in the heat.
A Celebration of Thai Culture

Bangkok Pride is distinctly Thai. Performances often draw on regional traditions, including mor lam music from the northeast, and drag and cabaret are an important part of the programme.
Thailand has a long history of visible gender diversity, and the country’s kathoey and trans communities have shaped its popular culture for generations. Pride is a chance to see that culture celebrated on a national stage.
No two trips we plan are the same. Yours will be no exception.

After the parade, a private boat on the Chao Phraya River offers a welcome change of pace. As the sun sets, you pass the temples of the old city, including Wat Arun, and the riverside hotels light up along the banks.
Dinner on board or at a riverside restaurant is an elegant way to end the day before heading back to Silom, where the parties continue late into the night.
More Pride Across Thailand

June is Pride Month across the country, with celebrations in Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, and other cities. If you have time, Bangkok Pride makes a natural start to a longer journey.
Many visitors combine the city with a few days on the islands, ending their trip with time to relax after the celebrations.
Planning Your Bangkok Pride Experience
Pride dates are announced each year, usually for late May or early June, and hotels near Silom and the river fill quickly. The weather at that time of year is hot and humid, so light clothing, sun protection, and plenty of water are essential.
Out Of Office can arrange your hotel, a host for the parade, and a private boat or dinner on the river. Your LGBTQ+ travel specialist can also extend your stay to other Pride celebrations across Thailand or a few days on its islands with one of our beach holidays.
