At a glance
Scotland’s most iconic luxury hotel, Gleneagles, has defined country estate hospitality for over a century, where championship golf, Michelin-starred dining, and 850 acres of Perthshire wilderness set a standard no other Scottish hotel can match.
Gleneagles is a 5-star luxury hotel in Perthshire, Scotland, with 205 individually designed rooms and 28 suites. As the only venue in Europe to have hosted both the Ryder and Solheim Cups, its three championship courses, The King’s, The Queen’s, and The PGA Centenary, make it the definitive golf hotel in Scotland. Resident guests benefit from preferential green fees, with the Ochil Hills as a backdrop throughout.
Dining is anchored by Andrew Fairlie, Scotland’s only two Michelin-starred restaurant, with The Strathearn, The American Bar, The Birnam, and The Dormy among the wider portfolio of restaurants and bars.
The spa covers an adults-only thermal suite, treatment rooms, gym, and family swim facilities. Country pursuits span shooting, fishing on the River Tay, falconry, off-road driving, horse riding, padel, and woodland adventures.

Accommodation
Country Bedroom
The cosiest entry point at Gleneagles, with inner-facing outlooks and Scottish countryside charm throughout. Beautifully furnished with the same level of finish as larger rooms across the estate, these rooms are ideal for guests who plan to spend their days out in the Glorious Playground and simply want a sumptuous base to return to. King-sized beds, a pillow menu, luxury bath products, and complimentary access to the gym, pools, and Pashley bikes are standard across all categories.
Braid Estate Bedroom
The most generous doubles on the property, set in Braid House with most rooms featuring balconies overlooking the iconic entrance and the rolling Ochil Hills beyond. The additional space makes these a natural choice for families, with room for roll-out beds and cots and easy access to the pool, Little Den, and The Garden Café. Working fireplaces and luxurious bathrooms add to the country house character.
Estate Suite
Light-filled and elegant, the Estate Suites offer separate sitting rooms and dining areas alongside some of the finest views of the hotel grounds and Perthshire countryside. Period detailing, sumptuous furnishings, and an accessible design make these a compelling choice for guests wanting a genuine home-from-home in the most considered setting the main hotel offers below the signature suites.
Royal Lochnagar Suite
Gleneagles’ finest suite for over a century, with a marble entrance hall, private sitting and dining room, dressing room, powder room, and an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating and a roll-top bathtub overlooking the Glendevon and Ochil Hills. Scottish fabrics, antiques, curated artwork, and a complimentary bar stocked with premium spirits reflect a century of welcoming the hotel’s most distinguished guests. Panoramic estate views from every principal room.
Further information
Spa

The Spa at Gleneagles draws on Perthshire botanicals and collaborations with leading global wellness brands including Kamalaya of Koh Samui for its treatment menu. Signature oil blends, specialist therapists, and a healthy café sit alongside Swim and Gym facilities that include two indoor pools, an outdoor thermal pool, and a state-of-the-art gym. Bob & Cloche, the Art Deco beauty lodge, handles hair, nails, and skin. Day spa access is available to non-residents.
Golf

Three championship courses and a nine-hole introduction make Gleneagles the definitive golf resort in Scotland. The King’s Course, designed by James Braid, is a century-old heathland classic. The Queen’s Course delivers scenic Perthshire beauty through high ridges, lochans, and woodland. The PGA Centenary Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, hosted both the Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup. Extensive practice facilities, a driving range, expert caddies, equipment hire, and the PGA National Academy for Scotland complete the offer.
Dining

Gleneagles’ dining spans the full spectrum from Scotland’s finest fine dining table to a dog-friendly café. Andrew Fairlie is the anchor, a two Michelin-starred restaurant and one of Europe’s most celebrated, known for French-inspired cooking and exemplary service. The Strathearn handles formal dinners with live piano, The Birnam leans into Italian with handmade pasta and tableside Caesar salad, and The Dormy serves stone-baked pizzas and Tandoor curries overlooking the greens. The American Bar, Century Bar, and Auchterarder 70 cover cocktails and nightcaps, while afternoon tea in the Glendevon, country picnics, and whisky tastings with the hotel’s own ambassador round out an offer that few properties in the UK can match.
Scotland
Scotland’s climate and light shift dramatically by season, and that shapes a trip more than in most destinations. Summer brings close to eighteen hours of daylight in the Highlands, while winter days can be as short as seven, which changes not just what is comfortable to do but what is possible in a single day.
Our Experts
I'm Scottish so am very fond of this country. Windswept Highlands landscapes, stunning lochs, mountains and glens... it's a paradise for those who love dramatic scenery.
The cities of Scotland have an energy that isn't seen anywhere else on earth. Welcoming, vibrant, and with that famous Scottish sense of humor. Edinburgh is a must-see for those visiting this beautiful country.
Stellar service. Stellar products. Stellar people and it gets so much better when you pick up the phone and call.

Luxury English Country House Tour for LGBTQ+ Travellers
Tailor-made HolidayThe English country house is one of the great inventions of British civilisation. For three centuries these estates shaped the landscape, defined a way of life, and played host to the kind of private world that rarely made it into the history books. What did make it in tells a more interesting story than the official version suggests.

LGBTQ+ Theatre Trip to London: West End Shows, Soho & Stratford
Tailor-made HolidayNo country on earth does theatre quite like the United Kingdom. From the West End stages that have shaped global popular culture to the small, radical fringe venues where the next generation of writers and performers are redefining what theatre can be, Britain's relationship with live performance runs deeper than anywhere else. It is the country that gave the world Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
