White Elephant is a Nantucket landmark, a cluster of weathered-shingle buildings on the harbor that grew from 1920s cottages into a luxury hotel in 1960. The flagship has recently had a full renovation, with a light, coastal blue-and-white look. Accommodation runs from harborview rooms and suites to garden cottages, residences, and downtown lofts.
The waterfront Brant Point Grill handles dining, with steaks, seafood, and harbor views, and there is a spa, a seasonal heated pool with cabanas, an art gallery, and a library. Complimentary bikes and courtesy cars help you cover the island.
Kid-friendly extras and a romantic harborside setting mean it works for couples, gay or straight, on a honeymoon as much as families. The town centre is steps away, and the ferry and Nantucket’s beaches are close by.

Hotel Accomodation
The hotel has 66 guestrooms and suites. All come with a king bed or two twin beds, an outdoor patio overlooking the garden and fine Italian linens. Some rooms come with direct harbour views – you’ll wake up each morning to the sound of the sea.
Residences
Located next to the Inn, the Residences are stand alone properties with first-class amenities. Expect custom furniture, living rooms, full kitchens and a dining area. The Residences can sleep two adults and two children.
Garden Cottages
The Garden Cottages offer seaside charm in the hotel’s gardens. They’re surrounded by hydrangeas. You’ll have a shaded outdoor sitting area. You can watch the sunset from your balcony or patio.
Downtown Lofts
There are two stunning lofts in downtown Nantucket. Each loft has three bedrooms, 2,500 square feet of space, gourmet kitchens and views of Main Street. This is a great choice if you’d like to be in the heart of the action.

Dining
The hotel’s restaurant is the Brant Point Grill, right on the water at the edge of the harbor. It is a steak-and-seafood room, known for its lobster Bloody Marys and Nantucket harbor views, open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch, with a terrace for warm-weather dining. Cocktails also spill out onto the Harborside Lawn. Beyond the hotel, the restaurants, cafes, and bars of Nantucket Town are a short walk from the door.
Wellness
The White Elephant Spa is a boutique spa in the harborside hotel, with a sunny, garden-view lobby and a menu of massages, facials, and body treatments. Out on the grounds, there is a seasonal heated outdoor pool with private cabanas and a poolside bar, plus a library and an art gallery for quieter moments. Complimentary bikes, and courtesy cars on request make it easy to get out to Nantucket’s beaches and lanes.
Location
White Elephant runs along Easton Street at the edge of Nantucket Harbor, overlooking the Boat Basin and a short walk from the cobblestoned centre of Nantucket Town, with its boutiques, galleries, and restaurants. Children’s Beach and Brant Point Lighthouse are close by, and the ferry terminal is nearby for boats from Cape Cod. Jetties Beach is about 15 minutes on foot, and the island’s wider beaches and bike trails open up from there.
