At a glance

Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora sits on Motu Tehotu, a private islet with overwater bungalow suites extending directly above the lagoon and beachfront villa estates spanning up to an acre of white-sand shoreline. Views of Mount Otemanu frame the resort from almost every point on the property.

Accommodations range from one-bedroom overwater suites with private plunge pools to three-bedroom beachfront villa estates with full outdoor kitchens and enclosed gardens.

A resident marine biologist leads lagoon snorkel tours through the resort’s coral garden, and private dining on a dedicated white-sand motu is available by outrigger canoe at sunset.

The resort’s cultural programme draws on French Polynesian tradition throughout, from Tahitian legend-telling on private islet excursions to the Tamari’i portrait collection by local photographer Sadry Ghacir, displayed across the property.

Dining

Private dining options are a particular strength. The resort offers outrigger canoe transfers to a private white-sand motu for champagne and gourmet dinner at sunset, as well as beach-set romantic meals on a dedicated private stretch of sand. In-bungalow dining is available throughout.

Wellness

Te Mahana Spa sits at the highest point of the resort, with seven treatment rooms, two open-air pavilions, and an overwater couples’ suite with glass-panel floors above the lagoon. Treatments draw on Polynesian tradition and indigenous ingredients including Tahitian black pearl powder. A lagoon-side yoga deck, group fitness classes, and a resort medical team complete the wellness offering.

The destination

Bora Bora

Bora Bora is a small volcanic island in French Polynesia, part of the Society Islands archipelago in the South Pacific. The island itself is around 12 square miles, ringed by a coral reef that creates the calm turquoise lagoon the destination is known for. Mount Otemanu rises 727 metres at the centre of the island.

The Ultimate French Polynesia Grand Tour

Tailor-made Holiday

Some destinations ask you to choose one experience over another; French Polynesia does not. This sixteen-day journey moves through five islands across two archipelagos, each with its own character and pace, connected by short inter-island flights, a scenic ferry crossing, and a private boat transfer. You will begin in Tahiti, the territory's cultural and geographic heart, before crossing the Sea of the Moon to Moorea, where jagged volcanic peaks rise directly behind the lagoon.

Bora Bora Snorkelling & Reef Trip

Tailor-made Holiday

Your journey begins on Mo'orea, where a turquoise lagoon shelters black tip reef sharks, turtles, and stingrays within easy reach of the shore. From there, you continue to Bora Bora, where Mount Otemanu rises over a lagoon best seen from a private catamaran, glass of champagne in hand. The route continues to Rangiroa, the second-largest atoll on Earth, where the pink-tinged sands of Vahituri catch the afternoon light.

Secluded Tahiti & Rangiroa Tour

Tailor-made Holiday

This itinerary moves through three of French Polynesia's quieter islands, each reached only by boat or short inter-island flight, and each rarely appearing on a first-time visitor's itinerary. It suits travellers who have already done Bora Bora, or who would rather skip it, in favour of a slower, less-photographed route through French Polynesia. The journey begins on Tahiti, where volcanic peaks meet a coastline still shaped by the island's original Polynesian settlements.
