Mykonos is one of the most gay-popular destinations in the world. It’s Greece’s most exclusive and exciting island. Mykonos is an ideal destination for a gay wedding. As well as being a great party destination, Mykonos is such a romantic setting. The endless Aegean blues and whitewashed buildings form the perfect romantic atmosphere. You can’t take a bad photograph in Mykonos – as the Instagram walls of so many influencers demonstrate.
With its beauty, welcoming spirit, and romantic ambience, Mykonos provides an idyllic setting to celebrate gay weddings. The island offers stunning backdrops for ceremonies, from serene chapels to beachside receptions at sunset. Many luxury hotels offer wedding packages with amenities like florists, catering, and event planning to create your ideal vision. For post-wedding relaxation, indulge in couples massages, private plunge pools, and gourmet dining. Mykonos’ lively culture also makes it perfect for gay wedding festivities.
Dance the night away under the stars at beach clubs or enjoy VIP access to the hottest bars and nightclubs. For your grand entrance, charter a yacht to deliver you to your venue in style. Mykonos encapsulates natural beauty, elegant romance, and vibrant energy – everything you need for an unforgettable gay wedding experience. Here, you are free to express your love surrounded by the island’s welcoming, open-minded spirit. Tie the knot overlooking the sparkling Aegean Sea, then embark on the honeymoon of a lifetime in this Mediterranean paradise.
You’ll find many excellent boutique hotels in Mykonos and perfect beaches, not to mention chic bars, tavernas and restaurants. Mykonos is one of our most popular destinations and we have great relationships with many of the most romantic hotels on the island. We’ve organised many gay weddings in Mykonos – it’s one of the most versatile destinations you can choose. It’s also worth exploring our pages on gay honeymoons in Mykonos and nearby gay honeymoons in Santorini.

Gay Weddings in Mykonos
Although Mykonos is geared towards LGBT+ travellers, same-sex marriage is not yet legal in Greece. You can have a legal ceremony elsewhere and then have a commitment ceremony in Mykonos. Sorting out the legal aspect of marriage can be easier to do at home. Your wedding ceremony can be more of a spectacle – and what a spectacle it would be on a Myconian beach with the stunning backdrops of the island in your wedding photos.
As Mykonos is so well established as a gay destination, many hotels are geared towards hosting symbolic same-sex weddings. You can tailor your symbolic wedding ceremony in Mykonos to fit your interests. You can choose the music, readings and determine the length of the ceremony. Your gay wedding in Mykonos would be entirely tailor-made. We’ve planned many gay weddings in Mykonos – we can take away the pressure. You just have to show up and enjoy the day.
Naturally, Greece is also a popular honeymoon destination. Santorini might be the most popular honeymoon destination in Europe. Combining your gay Greek wedding and honeymoon on one trip makes sense. Santorini is easily accessible from Mykonos via boat transfer. Find out more about gay honeymoons in Santorini here.

Mykonos or Naxos – which is better?
Naxos is the upcoming destination among the Greek islands. When people think of the Greek islands, Mykonos and Santorini tend to spring to mind - both of which are among our most popular destinations. And therein lies the problem. In peak season, Mykonos and Santorini are very busy and expensive - even by premium luxury standards. Naxos has an awful lot going for it.

Picking the right hotel is key to making your wedding work. Mykonos is quite a small islands and your trip will be centered around the hotel you choose. If you choose a hotel closer to Mykonos Town – such as Bill & Coo – you’ll be closer to the shops, restaurants and buzzing nightlife. Mykonos is, of course, a party destination; but it’s also a romantic, luxury destination. You can dip in and out of the nightlife as much or as little as you like.
Mykonos isn’t really a cultural destination, but it is an aesthetically beautiful one. Walking around and marvelling at the quaint buildings and winding streets is one of the best things you can do. Myconican style is so iconic – often imitated but never bettered. Supposing you would like a culture fix, you can take a short ferry ride to the island of Delos. It’s packed with ruins from antiquity – you’ll get a vivid glimpse of Ancient Greece.

Santorini Island Guide
Santorini is the most romantic of the Cyclades islands. Located in the south Aegean Sea 120 miles from the Greek mainland, it’s one of the two locations in Europe to have a desert climate. The other is Anafi, also a Greek island. Santorini is instantly recognisable. Its blue domes and caldera sunsets can be seen in the background of so many posts by Instagram “influencers.” It’s a place to be seen and be photographed in.

Luxury English Country House Tour for LGBTQ+ Travellers
Tailor-made HolidayThe English country house is one of the great inventions of British civilisation.
