Although Mykonos is geared towards LGBT+ travellers, same-sex marriage is not yet legal in Greece. You can have a legal ceremony elsewhere and then have a commitment ceremony in Mykonos. Sorting out the legal aspect of marriage can be easier to do at home. Picking the right hotel is key to making your wedding work. Mykonos is quite a small islands and your trip will be centered around the hotel you choose. If you choose a hotel closer to Mykonos Town – such as Bill & Coo – you’ll be closer to the shops, restaurants and buzzing nightlife. Mykonos is, of course, a party destination; but it’s also a romantic, luxury destination. You can dip in and out of the nightlife as much or as little as you like.
Mykonos isn’t really a cultural destination, but it is an aesthetically beautiful one. Walking around and marvelling at the quaint buildings and winding streets is one of the best things you can do. Myconican style is so iconic – often imitated but never bettered. Supposing you would like a culture fix, you can take a short ferry ride to the island of Delos. It’s packed with ruins from antiquity – you’ll get a vivid glimpse of Ancient Greece.
