Contact usThere’s so much to see and do in Bali. It really favours a longer trip. Some of our favourite things to do in Bali include taking a trip to the Tegenungan Waterfall. It cascades from 15 metres in the forest.
If you’ve spent any time on Instagram you’ll no doubt have seen the Bali Swing – it could be called The Instagram Swing as it’s designed to give you a flawless photograph. You’ll be sweeping over the jungle but don’t worry, you’ll be safely strapped to the swing.
Take a trip to Ubud where you can explore museums, palaces and local markets. Start with a visit to ARMA Museum (Agung Rai Museum of Art) and enjoy one of the best permanent collections of Balinese and Indonesian paintings. A visit to ARMA provides a great overview of the island’s rich artistic traditions. Ubud has grown from a hippie’s paradise to become quite a stylish destination. There are well-appointed villas you can stay in. There’s also the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.
LGBTQ+ individuals in Indonesia face societal pressures and cultural prejudices rooted in traditional mores and historical stigmas. Homosexuality is widely disapproved of, and same-sex marriage is not recognized. While most regions of the country do not enforce sodomy laws, and private same-sex activity is not criminalized at the national level, local regulations and social attitudes can create challenges for the LGBTQ+ community.
However, Bali stands apart as a welcoming and inclusive destination for LGBTQ+ tourism. The island has cultivated a unique social climate that differs significantly from more conservative and remote parts of Indonesia. Known for its vibrant nightlife, serene beaches, and diverse cultural scene, Bali has become a haven for LGBTQ+ travelers seeking acceptance and relaxation. Popular areas such as Seminyak offer LGBTQ+-friendly bars, clubs, and resorts, contributing to the island’s reputation as an open-minded and inviting destination.
Bali’s inclusive atmosphere, combined with its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, continues to attract visitors from around the globe, providing a safe and memorable experience for LGBTQ+ individuals in an otherwise challenging national context.
Visit the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. This is the natural habitat of the Balinese long-tailed macaque. You can access the sanctuary easily from Ubud. The sanctuary is in a sprawling forest where you’ll also find temples to explore. The forest is locally owned and managed.
Seminyak is one of the most tourist friendly parts of Bali. You’ll find many luxury hotels in this part of Bali so it could be your main base when you visit. You’ll find some of the best restaurants in Bali in Seminyak and and long stretch of beach.
You have to explore some of Bali’s temples. Uluwatu Temple is one of the stand out temples. What’s more, this temples is inhabited by monkeys! Uluwatu Temple is perched on a cliff and it’s a very atmospheric place to explore when you’re in Bali.
