Barcelona’s Eixample, sometimes called the Gaixample, is one of southern Europe’s most established LGBTQ+ neighborhoods, while Madrid’s Chueca, the country’s LGBTQ+ hub since the years following Spain’s transition to democracy, sits a short walk from the capital’s acclaimed restaurants.
Beyond the cities, tour picturesque vineyards in La Rioja, learning the region’s terroir and celebrated varietals. La Rioja and the Basque Country do not carry the same established LGBTQ+ districts as Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville, and this stretch of the journey is framed around its wine and gastronomy instead.
Join expert chefs for hands-on cooking classes through Andalusia and the Basque Country’s bold, inventive dishes before finishing in Seville, where Alameda de Hércules has served the city’s own LGBTQ+ community much as Chueca and the Eixample serve Madrid and Barcelona.

Days 1-3: Barcelona
Your journey begins in Barcelona, where Catalan culture and creativity shape every experience. Settle into your centrally located hotel before exploring the city’s dynamic culinary scene at your leisure. Take part in a hands-on cooking class and learn to prepare authentic paella using fresh local ingredients, then enjoy your creation over a relaxed lunch.
Discover Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces, including the Sagrada Família and the colourful terraces of Park Güell, and stroll along Las Ramblas. Venture beyond the city to the Penedès wine region, where guided vineyard tours and cava tastings offer insight into Spain’s celebrated sparkling wine tradition, paired with a leisurely lunch among the vines.
Days 4-5: Madrid & Toledo
Travel by high-speed train to Madrid, Spain’s elegant capital. Enjoy a panoramic introduction to the city before dining at one of its acclaimed restaurants.
From Madrid, journey to historic Toledo, where medieval streets, grand cathedrals and layered cultural heritage tell the story of Spain’s past. A countryside winery visit rounds out the day with tastings and regional flavours.
Days 6-7: Ezcaray
Continue to La Rioja, Spain’s most famous wine region. Based in the charming town of Ezcaray, explore prestigious wineries and boutique producers, learning about traditional and modern winemaking techniques.
Guided tastings paired with regional cuisine allow you to fully immerse yourself in Rioja’s rich wine culture amid rolling vineyard landscapes.
Days 8-10: San Sebastián & Bilbao
In San Sebastián, dive into the Basque Country’s renowned gastronomy. Sample pintxos in lively local bars and enjoy a rare dining experience at a private gastronomic society, preparing a meal alongside local experts.
Relax on the city’s elegant beaches before stopping in Bilbao to visit the iconic Guggenheim Museum en route south.
Day 10-13: Seville
Your final chapter unfolds in Seville, where Andalusian flavours take centre stage. Visit a traditional Iberico ham producer to learn about this prized delicacy before tasting it at its source.
Participate in hands-on cooking classes with local chefs, preparing classic Andalusian dishes and enjoying them with carefully selected Spanish wines.
