From the resort hotels of the Riviera Maya to the ancient Mayan ruins an hour inland. The Pacific beaches and celebrity-favourite luxury resorts of Los Cabos. The sprawling energy of Mexico City with its world-class museums, food scene, and architectural history. The legendary gay scene of Puerto Vallarta. Mexico covers more ground than almost any destination we send clients to.
Here at Out Of Office, we truly understand the world you live in, and the world you want to explore. Our attention to detail, exceptional service and deep understanding of both luxury travel and LGBTQ+ travel make us a fantastic choice for those looking for a travel experience where exclusivity meets inclusivity.
For LGBTQ+ travelers it has an additional distinction. It was the first country in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide, and cities like Puerto Vallarta and Mexico City have built gay communities that attract visitors from across the world. The Zona Romantica in Puerto Vallarta is Latin America’s largest gay district.
Mexico City’s Zona Rosa has been a magnet for the LGBTQ+ community for decades. These are not footnotes to the destination. They are part of what makes Mexico one of the most compelling places to travel.
Knowing which part of Mexico suits which traveler, which resorts in Los Cabos are worth the price, and which experiences in Mexico City require planning months ahead is what our specialists bring to every trip we build here.

Contact usThe Riviera Maya runs south from Cancun along the Caribbean coast, with the resort strip of Playa del Carmen and Tulum giving way to jungle and reef as you move away from the main tourist corridor. The diving here is among the best in the Americas: the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef runs the length of the coastline, and the cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula offer a completely different kind of dive through flooded limestone caves and freshwater sinkholes. Tres Rios nature park, where three rivers converge before reaching the sea, is one of the better wildlife experiences in the region with guided tours through mangroves and jungle.
Inland, the Mayan ruins are the obvious draw. Chichen Itza, named one of the new seven wonders of the world, is the most visited but also the most crowded. Tulum’s clifftop ruins above the Caribbean are more photogenic. Coba, largely unrestored and deep in jungle, is the one worth the early start.
Mexico City sits at 2,200 metres above sea level in a valley ringed by volcanoes, and operates on a scale that takes time to absorb. The Historic Centre alone contains the Zocalo, the Templo Mayor, and the Metropolitan Cathedral within a few blocks of each other.
Frida Kahlo’s Casa Azul in Coyoacan, the murals of Diego Rivera, and a restaurant scene that has made the city one of the world’s serious food destinations round out a place that rewards at least four or five days.
Mexico was the first country in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage nationwide, and the legal framework for LGBTQ+ travelers is among the strongest in the region. Same-sex marriages are fully legally recognized across all states, carrying the same rights and protections as heterosexual marriages including inheritance, spousal visas, and parental rights.
Anti-discrimination protections cover sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, healthcare, and public services.
For couples considering a destination wedding, Mexico is one of the few countries where a same-sex ceremony is both legally binding and logistically straightforward. Resorts across Los Cabos, the Riviera Maya, and Puerto Vallarta handle same-sex weddings as standard, and our specialists arrange the legal paperwork alongside the event itself.
In practice, the experience on the ground matches the legal picture. Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romantica is Latin America’s largest gay district, with a concentration of bars, clubs, and LGBTQ+ venues that draws visitors from across the world.
Mexico City’s Zona Rosa and Condesa neighbourhoods have been anchors of the country’s LGBTQ+ community for decades. Vallarta Pride and Mexico City Pride both attract large international crowds. Outside the major cities, attitudes are more conservative in rural areas, but the destinations our clients visit are consistently welcoming.
Mexico’s range is the planning challenge. A couple who want five nights in a Los Cabos resort and nothing more complex than a sunset boat trip need a very different conversation to a family splitting time between Mexico City, the Riviera Maya, and a cenote excursion, or a group using Puerto Vallarta as a base for a week of beach, nightlife, and day trips into the Sierra Madre.
Our specialists know the resorts across all three coasts in a way that the booking platforms don’t reflect. In Los Cabos, the difference between a good property and a great one is often the beach: some of the most photographed hotels sit on bays where the Pacific swell makes swimming impossible.
We know which resorts have swimmable water and which are for sunsets only. In the Riviera Maya, the all-inclusive question comes up on almost every enquiry, and the answer depends entirely on how much time you plan to spend at the resort versus exploring.
We have a clear view on which properties justify the all-inclusive rate and which are better booked room-only.
For LGBTQ+ travelers, Puerto Vallarta requires its own expertise. The Zona Romantica is Latin America’s largest gay district, and navigating which hotels, which events, and which time of year delivers the experience you are after is something our specialists do every week. Vallarta Pride, the annual Pink Weekend in Cabo, and the year-round gay scene in Mexico City’s Zona Rosa all have their own character and their own ideal way to approach them.
Mexico City we treat as a destination in its own right, never a bolt-on.
Los Cabos is where Mexico’s luxury hotel market operates at its highest level. The corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas contains some of the best resort properties in the Americas: the One&Only Palmilla, the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, and a stretch of cliff and coastline that has made the area a reliable choice for the kind of traveler who would otherwise go to the Maldives or Bora Bora.
The Pacific swell makes some beaches unsuitable for swimming, so room and position selection matters more here than almost anywhere else we book.
Punta Mita, forty-five minutes north of Puerto Vallarta on the Pacific coast, sits on a private peninsula with two Four Seasons properties and a handful of ultra-luxury villa rentals that rarely appear on public booking platforms. It attracts a quieter, more private clientele than Cabo and suits travelers who want the Pacific coast without the scene.
The Riviera Maya has a different register entirely. The all-inclusive format dominates here, and at the top end it has been refined into something genuinely impressive: private butler service, multiple restaurants with no reservations required, and beachfront suite categories that bear little resemblance to the standard all-inclusive experience. Knowing which properties justify that model and which are coasting on their location is something our specialists have a clear view on.
Mexico City’s luxury hotel market has matured significantly in recent years. The Four Seasons on Paseo de la Reforma, the St Regis overlooking Chapultepec Park, and a growing number of boutique properties in Condesa and Roma Norte give the city options that match its standing as one of the world’s serious travel destinations.

From the US, Mexico is one of the most accessible luxury destinations we book. Direct flights to Cancun, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta operate from most major American cities, with flight times ranging from two and a half hours from the Southwest to five or six hours from the East Coast.
For Mexico City, direct services run from New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and Houston. American, United, Delta, and Alaska all operate competitive routes, and we book premium cabin seats on the carriers and schedules that work best for your itinerary.
From the UK, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic operate direct services to Cancun and Mexico City from London. Flight times run to around ten to eleven hours. For Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta from the UK, a connection via a US hub is usually the most practical routing.
On arrival, the airport experience varies significantly by destination. Cancun and Los Cabos both have dedicated luxury transfer services and private terminal options that bypass the main arrivals hall entirely. Mexico City’s Benito Juarez airport is larger and more complex; we arrange private meet-and-greet services and transfers for all clients arriving there.
For clients flying into Cancun and heading south to Tulum or the lower Riviera Maya, we coordinate private transfers that avoid the tourist bus circuit entirely.
We want to ensure you have the best experience with us so we’ll keep working on your itinerary until perfect. You will have your own personal dedicated member of our team who will help build a trip that is bespoke to you.
