W Punta de Mita is a vibrant beachfront luxury resort on Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit, with Huichol-inspired design, plunge-pool jungle rooms, and Jean-Georges’ Spice Market.
Opened in 2016, W Punta de Mita runs along a stretch of Costa Banderas beachfront between Litibú Bay and Banderas Bay, with the Sierra Madre rising behind the property. The hotel takes its design cues from the Huichol, the indigenous community of the region, with their crafts, colors, and patterns built into the interiors throughout.
The accommodation runs to 119 rooms and 13 suites in total. Spectacular Jungle Rooms come with plunge pools, outdoor showers, and hammocks, with Haven Suites adding private gardens and fire pits along the beachfront. The Extreme WOW Suite covers 160 sqm across two bedrooms, a sun terrace with private pool, a chef-grade kitchen, and a 200 sqm rooftop with a jacuzzi.
Dining includes Spice Market, the Jean-Georges Vongerichten Southeast Asian concept, alongside the design-led signature Rubra and a beachfront food truck for ceviche. The Away Spa, Wet Deck pools including the adults-only Wet TOO with its transparent ocean-facing wall, and a 50,000 sqft event garden round out the resort.

Accommodation
Wonderful Jungle Escape
You’ll be driven on a golf buggy through the forest to your Wonderful Jungle Escape and it is truly wonderful. The vibrant colours leap out at you as soon as you walk in. On the terrace, you can sit back on an Acapulco-style chair and gaze out over the fig trees.
The glass-enclosed shower and freestanding bathtub are a winning combo – as you bath you’ll see jungle foliage through the window.
You can also for a larger room with two double beds. Oceanfront options are also available.
Spectacular Jungle Escape
The same design as the Wonderful Jungle Escape but with more space. This room can also be upgraded to a double. You can also opt for the oceanfront option.
Ocean Front Haven
Upgrade your experience with an Ocean Front Haven and get your own plunge pool. You’ll also get a semi-separate sunken living room.
Ocean Front Oasis
Ideal if you’re looking for total luxury. These oversized oceanfront rooms open onto winding plunge pools and dramatic sunsets. Accessed by a wooden bridge, the retreat is circled by a pool. A ten-person dining table makes this an ideal spot to invite guests.

Dining
W Punta de Mita runs three main restaurants. Spice Market is the signature, Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Southeast Asian concept, with a menu built around bold street-style cooking. Rubra has emerged as the property’s standout since its redesign, with strong coffee through the day and creative tasting dinners at night. A beachfront food truck handles ceviche and casual fare, with lounge bars and rooftop service rounding out the program.
Wellness
The AWAY Spa anchors the wellness side, with a full treatment menu including massages, facials, and signature W therapies. Facilities include a steam room, sauna, and salon. The Fit Gym is glass-walled and looks directly onto the jungle, with cardio, strength, and a yoga studio on site. The Wet Deck pools, including the adults-only Wet TOO with its transparent ocean-facing wall, cover the daytime social scene.
Location
W Punta de Mita is on Carretera Punta de Mita Km 8.5, on the Costa Banderas beachfront of Riviera Nayarit in the state of Nayarit, around 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport. The setting puts the resort between the surf town of Sayulita, around 25 minutes north, and the Punta Mita peninsula to the south. Litibú Golf Course is 11 km away and Manzanilla Beach is 8 km.
