The Rome EDITION occupies a former 1940s Italian Rationalist bank building steps from Via Veneto and the Spanish Steps. Conceived by Ian Schrager in collaboration with designer Patricia Urquiola, it brought a design-led approach to a city better known for its historic palazzos and grand hotel traditions.
The interiors run through light oak panelling, linen textiles, travertine and bronze detailing, with a courtyard garden of over 400 plants at the centre of the property and a seventh floor rooftop with a plunge pool and views across the Roman skyline.
Four bars and restaurants have made it as relevant to Romans as it is to guests, which in a city this attached to its own institutions, says something.

Accommodation
Rooms
The 74 rooms are offered across five categories, each carrying the same design language with the outlook and scale stepping up through the collection.
The Guest Room is the entry point, with city views and the full EDITION design palette. The Superior and Deluxe rooms add more space and a sitting area, while the Premiere City and Premiere City Skyline categories offer the most pronounced outlooks over the Roman rooftops.
Suites
The 17 suites each feature separate living and sleeping areas, with many looking directly over the church of San Nicola da Tolentino and the streets below.
The Loft Suite takes a double-height configuration, while the Garden View Suite looks onto the hotel’s courtyard garden of over 400 plants. The EDITION Signature Suite and Skyline Suite step up in space and outlook, the latter with views across the Roman skyline from the living room.
Penthouse Suites
At the top of the collection sit two penthouses. The EDITION Penthouse Suite and The Rome Penthouse Suite each offer panoramic views over the city and the most complete suite experience the hotel provides.

Food & Drinks
Anima
The hotel’s signature restaurant, led by Chef Antonio Gentile, serving Italian cuisine. Built around seasonal ingredients, the menu features standout dishes including the Cavalieri Spaghetti and homemade focaccia, alongside a wine list with a strong emphasis on Italian labels. The restaurant opens onto a courtyard garden of over 400 plants.
Punch Room
The award-winning speakeasy-inspired bar built around the 17th-century tradition of punch, with a menu drawn from imagined travel journals and the influence of the Roman Empire.
Jade Bar
An intimate venue with green marble interiors, serving signature martinis, champagne cocktails and elevated bites. A sensory tasting programme in collaboration with Le Labo features the Tè Noir fragrance.
The Roof
The Roof sits on the seventh floor with a travertine plunge pool and panoramic views across Rome, serving premium fish and meats alongside cocktails from morning to midnight.
Spa & Wellness
A fitness centre is available on site for guests. Two treatment rooms offer a focused menu of wellness and beauty treatments. The rooftop travertine plunge pool is available to hotel guests daily from 9am to 7:30pm.
