Bali has built its reputation as Southeast Asia’s most welcoming destination for gay couples over decades of tourism, and it shows in the details, hotels that don’t blink at a joint honeymoon suite, wedding planners who’ve run same-sex ceremonies for years, staff trained to treat two grooms or two brides exactly like any other newlyweds.

Seminyak and Canggu hold the bulk of that infrastructure. Private pool villas here come standard with outdoor showers and daybeds, and many properties build wedding packages specifically around same-sex couples, from the ceremony itself through to a private dinner on the beach once the sun’s down.

A couples’ massage is easy to arrange almost anywhere on the island, whether it’s a treatment room backed by rainforest or a cliff-top spa terrace with the ocean stretched out below.

Ubud offers a different pace entirely. Rice terraces, jungle paths, and centuries-old temples give the island’s interior a quieter, more reflective character, well suited to couples who want yoga and guided meditation over beach clubs and drag shows. Both registers, coast and interior, sit close enough together that a week can move between them easy transfers.

Bali gives couples a rare mix, an island built for tropical honeymoon staples like private pools and sunset dinners, backed by a welcoming attitude toward same-sex couples that not every destination in the region can offer.

Gay Honeymoons in Bali

Gay Honeymoons in Bali

Seminyak’s LGBTQ+ scene has grown alongside its luxury hotel industry rather than separately from it.

The neighborhood’s private villa compounds and beachfront resorts are used to hosting same-sex couples without a second thought, and a number of the area’s best restaurants and boutique hotels are LGBTQ+-owned, giving Seminyak a following among gay travelers well beyond Bali itself.

Canggu, a short drive up the coast, offers a quieter, more understated version of the same thing.

Design-forward villas here lean into the rice paddy views rather than ocean frontage, and the neighborhood’s slower pace suits couples who want privacy over proximity to a beach club scene.

Sanur, on the island’s calmer east coast, rounds out the options for couples who want Bali’s coastline without Seminyak’s energy.

Its long promenade and protected waters make it a natural base for quiet mornings, paddleboarding or an early swim before the rest of the day opens up.

Things To Do In Bali

Uluwatu Temple sits on a limestone cliff at the island’s southern tip, and the kecak fire dance performed there most evenings, staged right as the sun goes down over the ocean, is one of Bali’s more memorable evenings out. A private dinner reservation nearby afterward makes it an easy pairing.

Nusa Penida, a short boat ride from Bali’s east coast, is worth a full day for couples who want dramatic coastline without the crowds, Kelingking Beach’s cliffside viewpoint and the Crystal Bay snorkeling spot both rank among the best on the island.

A sunrise trek up Mount Batur rewards an early start with the whole island laid out below as the light comes up, and a private guide can time the pace to suit the couple rather than a group tour’s schedule.

For a quieter afternoon, a private cooking class at a villa, working through Balinese staples like sate lilit and lawar with a personal chef, gives couples something to take home from the trip beyond the usual photos, and it pairs naturally with a market visit earlier in the day to pick out the ingredients themselves.

Slow Down in Andalusia

Tailor-made Holiday

Seven nights at a single hillside estate, olive groves in every direction, and nowhere else on the schedule. Most Andalusia itineraries move fast: Seville, Córdoba, Granada, and Ronda, each city allotted a day or two before the next. This one does the opposite. A single week is spent based at a rural estate in the hills, with the surrounding towns treated as occasional excursions rather than a checklist.

Madrid & Chueca: A Sapphic City Break

Tailor-made Holiday

Beyond Chueca's rainbow crossings and crowded terraces lies a quieter world of courtyard bars, bookshops, and more, explored by LGBTQ+ travellers for decades. Chueca's main streets are well known: the rainbow-painted crossing at Pedro Zerolo, the terraces that spill onto the square outside the metro station, and the crowds that gather there most evenings, a scene that has become almost synonymous with the neighbourhood's reputation.

Ibiza: Beyond the Clubs

Tailor-made Holiday

Ibiza's reputation was built on its clubs, but its most exclusive addresses have always been in the hills, well away from the partying. Ibiza became a prominent LGBTQ+ destination decades before the superclubs arrived, drawing artists, writers, and a bohemian community to the island's interior through the 1960s and 1970s. That history has been steadily overshadowed by the island's later reputation as Europe's party capital, and this itinerary is built to recover it.

Marrakech & Essaouira Escape

Tailor-made Holiday

Morocco is unlike any other place, and nowhere makes that clearer than Marrakech: a city shaped by centuries of trade, scholarship, and craftsmanship that makes a total claim on the senses from the first moment. Essaouira, three hours west on the Atlantic coast, is its quieter counterpart: a UNESCO-listed port town where trade winds come off the sea, the ramparts are painted white and blue, and the pace drops to something close to ease.

A Luxury Journey Across Portugal & Morocco

Tailor-made Holiday

Lisbon and Marrakech sit less than three hours apart by air, close yet distinct enough that each feels like its own trip. Ten days move from the ease and elegance of Lisbon, with its candlelit restaurants, hilltop viewpoints, and some of Europe's most architecturally distinctive boutique hotels, to the heat, colour, and sensory depth of Marrakech, where one of the world's great palace hotels waits behind its ancient medina walls.

The Ultimate French Polynesia Grand Tour

Tailor-made Holiday

Some destinations ask you to choose one experience over another; French Polynesia does not. This sixteen-day journey moves through five islands across two archipelagos, each with its own character and pace, connected by short inter-island flights, a scenic ferry crossing, and a private boat transfer. You will begin in Tahiti, the territory's cultural and geographic heart, before crossing the Sea of the Moon to Moorea, where jagged volcanic peaks rise directly behind the lagoon.

Madeira: The Ultimate Portuguese Island Adventure

Tailor-made Holiday

Madeira offers terrain that few European islands can match: ancient rainforest, volcanic peaks, and dramatic cliff edges where the Atlantic drops away hundreds of metres below. With levada channels threading through landscapes that predate the ice age, it sits in a different category from most European islands. A week here covers a lot of ground and still leaves you with reasons to come back. The days move with intention.

Luxury Algarve Escape: Beaches, Wellness & Coastal Bliss

Tailor-made Holiday

Southern Portugal's coastline is, by any measure, among the best in Europe. Its beaches, with golden limestone cliffs folding into coves of water that shift between jade and deep Atlantic blue, have been drawing travellers for decades, and the hotel infrastructure has kept pace: the luxury end of this market is world-class, anchored by resorts that would hold their own anywhere in the Mediterranean and then some.

Machu Picchu & the Galápagos: A Luxury Journey

Tailor-made Holiday

This itinerary is built around two of the most extraordinary destinations on the planet. Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is a fifteenth-century Inca citadel set on a mountain ridge in the cloud forest at 2,430 metres above sea level, hidden from the outside world until 1911 and still capable of stopping people in their tracks.

Luxury Lesbos & Athens: In the Footsteps of Sappho

Tailor-made Holiday

This itinerary pairs Athens with Lesbos, ending in Skala Eressos, the small beach town that has become one of the most important destinations for lesbian travellers anywhere in the world. It’s not just about where you go, but why you go. Athens brings the history. Lesbos brings something far more personal. Lesbos is not a typical Greek island add-on. You come here for a reason.

Machu Picchu & Iguazu Falls: Luxury Peru & Brazil Tour

Tailor-made Holiday

Machu Picchu and Iguazú are the two natural-and-cultural wonders that most travellers come to South America to see, and the case for putting them in the same trip is straightforward: both reward proper time, both have a single best hotel, and the long flights to either are easier to justify when you're seeing the other on the same ticket. This itinerary builds eleven days around them.
