Here is our perfect itinerary allowing you to see what Peru has to offer
Start this wonderful adventure in Lima. Spend a day exploring the city’s rich colonial history and try the local cuisine. Lima is the capital city of Peru and is located on the coast, so a trip to see the gorgeous ocean views should definitely be on your list. This lively city has a buzzing nightlife, with many quirky bars and clubs for you to try.
After your stop in Lima, head to the Andes Mountains (roughly a 90-minute flight to Cusco, then around an hour drive to the Sacred Valley). Spend the first two nights in Ollantaytambo, the village which was one the royal estate of the Inca Emperor Pachacuti. Explore the area which is scattered with beautiful Inca ruins and artefacts. Immerse yourself in the extraordinary ancient history which belongs to these areas.

After this, board the 2-hour train which journies through the Andes, alongside Urubamba River. Your destination is Aguas Calientes, and from here you will have a short 20-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu. This experience is unforgettable, stand at the top and see this gorgeous ancient Inca City in all its glory. For those hardcore explorers out there, you can trek the Inca Trail which starts in Ollantaytambo and takes 4 days. All the hard work pays off when you are rewarded with the best view of Machu Picchu. Spend the rest of the day soaking up the culture which encompasses the ruins. Spend the night in Aguas Calientes.
It is now time to leave this incredible Inca city and move onto Cusco, before you leave, make sure you are up early enough to see the sunrise over Machu Picchu, you will never experience anything like it! Once you have arrived in Cusco, spend 3 days exploring the city, visiting many of the ancient sites, and tasting the local cuisine. Cusco has a lively nightlife with some funky gay bars and clubs. Whilst you are here visit the chocolate museum, and the San Pedro market to find those holiday souvenirs and even pick up a pair of Alpaca wool socks!
Catch a flight to Lima, and then drive down the Pan-American Highway to Paracas. Here you will find the luxury hotels and villas located in the north and south parts of the village. This seaside village is home to many penguins and pelicans! Surrounded by golden sand dunes, this village is the perfect stop for the traveller looking to see a completely different side of Peru. Visit a winery, and one of the many bodegas in the evening to sample some of the many wines that Peru is famous for.
Now your trip is sadly at its end. Head back to Lima for one final night, where you can catch your flight to your next destination (wherever that may be!)
