St. Barts’ longest-established resort, Rosewood Le Guanahani occupies an 18-acre peninsula on the quieter northeast coast, where 66 private cottages are scattered through tropical gardens above Marigot Bay.

The property’s iconic yellow and blue clapboard cottages each come with private entrances, while suite categories add private pools and sun decks. Interiors combine whitewashed wooden ceilings, wicker furnishings and muted tones with considered details that reflect the island’s French heritage throughout.

Beach House, the resort’s all-day restaurant, sits open to the ocean breeze and serves everything from French pastries at breakfast to Mediterranean small plates and freshly caught spiny lobster at dinner.

The Rosewood Sense Spa brings the brand’s signature wellness programming to the island, with treatment rooms finished in cream and natural wood, a dedicated spa pool, and a therapist-led hiking trail along the peninsula’s rocky morne.

Accommodation

Rooms

Four room categories sit across the resort’s tropical grounds, ranging from 37 to 50 square meters and each arriving with a private terrace, floor-to-ceiling French windows, and the property’s signature palette of dark hardwood floors and pastel Caribbean accents.

Views vary by location: the Ocean Bay and Ocean Bay Pool Rooms face Marigot Bay, the Ocean Cove Room looks out over Grand Cul-de-Sac Lagoon, and the Beach Room sits directly on the sand with a covered verandah and private sundeck.

The Ocean Bay Pool Room is the standout at this level, adding a private palm-flanked pool with sun loungers to the standard room footprint. The Beach Room offers the most direct connection to the water, with lagoon views from a generous 50 square meters.

Suites

Seven suite categories range from 34 to 56 square meters and introduce four-poster king beds, larger outdoor living spaces, and in several cases private pools. The Garden and Garden Pool Suites occupy a central position on the grounds, while the Ocean View and Ocean View Pool Suites are distributed across the property for wider Caribbean Sea outlooks.

The Wellness Suite is the most distinctive option at this level, positioned directly above the Sense Spa with private access and a raised terrace facing Marigot Bay.

For guests wanting a pool, the Ocean View Pool Suite and Beach Pool Suite are the two strongest choices: the former overlooks the Caribbean Sea, the latter sits right on the beach. All suites in this category include a sofa bed, making them a practical option for three guests.

Food and Drink

Beach House serves all meals throughout the day in an open-sided setting that looks directly onto the beach, making it easy to move between the water and the table without changing pace.

The menu takes its cues from the Mediterranean, running from French pastries and charcuterie at breakfast through small plates of charred octopus, sardines and baba ganoush at lunch, and on to freshly caught spiny lobster and braised beef cheeks at dinner. The kitchen also works with a rotating selection of bespoke dining experiences, including a Sunday Beach BBQ and chef masterclasses led by Chef Julien Boury.

Bar Mélangé handles the drinks program from a tiki-style setting that draws both guests and locals. The cocktail list leans into the island’s French Caribbean character, with house-cured olives and bar snacks alongside an inventive selection of mixed drinks.

Private dining options are available for those wanting something more secluded, from intimate dinners on the property to bespoke experiences out on the water.
