We recommend
Out Of Office was founded on a single conviction: that everyone should be able to travel the world, no matter who they love. Since then, our team has planned thousands of same-sex honeymoons across every destination on this page, and we know each of them from the inside out. Which resorts are truly welcoming, not just technically inclusive. Which properties will upgrade you without being asked. Which destinations have changed in the past two years, and which ones we no longer recommend.
A honeymoon is not a standard holiday. It is the trip that sets the tone for everything that comes after, and it deserves to be planned by people who understand that, and who understand you. Planning it alongside a wedding is a particular kind of pressure.
The last thing you need is the added complexity of researching which destinations are safe for a same-sex couple, which hotels will treat you with the warmth you deserve, and which five-star properties are five-star in everything except the way they treat two grooms or two brides at breakfast.
That complexity is ours to carry, not yours.
We specialise in bespoke LGBTQ+ honeymoon packages and build every trip from scratch. No set itineraries. No compromises. No assumptions about how you want to travel. We get to know you and your partner properly, understand what kind of travellers you are, and build the honeymoon around that.
Some couples want private villas and total seclusion. Others want culture, food, and cities that feel like home. Most want something in between, and something they could not have found on their own.
Below you will find our recommended destinations, hand-picked itineraries, and the hotels our team knows personally. Use it as a starting point. Then talk to us.

Choosing a Gay Honeymoon in Europe
Greece: Athens, Mykonos and Santorini
Greece remains one of our most popular gay honeymoon destinations because it combines almost everything couples ask us for. Start in Athens with rooftop restaurants, ancient sites and some of the best new hotels in the city, then move into the Cyclades.
Mykonos brings the energy: beach clubs, excellent restaurants, beautiful hotels and one of the Mediterranean’s best-known gay scenes. Santorini changes the pace completely, with caldera views, private terraces and the best sunsets in Europe.
Italy: Rome, Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast
Italy works particularly well when you want your honeymoon to include more cultural activity.
Begin with a few days in Rome among ancient ruins, neighborhood restaurants and grand hotels. Travel north for Florence and the Tuscan countryside, or continue south towards Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
Portugal: Lisbon, Comporta and the Algarve
Portugal works beautifully for couples who want a European honeymoon that feels relaxed rather than over-programmed.
Start in Lisbon for tiled streets, excellent restaurants, rooftop bars and grand old hotels, then head south to Comporta. Finish in the Algarve, where the coastline becomes more dramatic. Stay somewhere overlooking the ocean, take a private boat along the cliffs and sea caves, and leave enough time for completely unplanned days by the pool.
Combine Mykonos and Santorini for two very different versions of the Greek islands
2Pair Rome with Capri or the Amalfi Coast for a classic Italian honeymoon
3Explore Lisbon, Porto and the Algarve
4Build the trip around private boats, exceptional restaurants, and wine tastings

Plan Your Gay Honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast is one of the most romantic destinations in Italy, with its clifftop villages and terraced lemon groves. You’ll be greeted with arguably the best views in Europe when you arrive. Make your way through the winding streets of Amalfi, Positano and Atrani. Enjoy easily navigable day trips to Sorrento or Capri. Literary fans can even take a stroll past Gore Vidal’s old house in Ravello.
ReadPlanning your LGBTQ+ honeymoon
The world is more welcoming than it’s ever been, and there are extraordinary honeymoon destinations open to you on every continent. Overwater villas in the Maldives, clifftop suites in Santorini, safari lodges in South Africa, the villages and vineyards of Tuscany. Our job is to make sure you experience the best of them without any of the uncertainty that can come with traveling as a same-sex couple.
We know these destinations and the hotels within them personally. We know which properties genuinely celebrate their LGBTQ+ guests and which ones simply tolerate them. We know which Italian agriturismos make same-sex couples feel completely at home, and which Greek island hotels have gone out of their way to build something genuinely inclusive. That distinction matters on a honeymoon, and it’s exactly the kind of knowledge that’s hard to find anywhere else.
Every trip we plan is built around you as a couple: your pace, your priorities, your version of the perfect honeymoon. Some couples want to move through multiple destinations, combining culture and beaches and wildlife into one unforgettable trip. Others want to arrive somewhere beautiful and stay put. Most want something in between. Whatever that looks like for you, we build it from scratch.
The practical details, the room, the recognition on arrival, the moments that make it feel special rather than standard: we handle all of that before you leave home, so you can focus on the parts that matter.
Tell us how you like to travel. We will shape the trip around it.

Plan Your Gay Honeymoon in Japan
Japan is one of the most rewarding honeymoon destinations in the world and one of the more complex to plan well. The experiences that define a trip here, the right ryokan, a private temple viewing at dawn, a counter restaurant with no English menu and a three-month waiting list, exist slightly off the standard path and tend to require knowing how to ask. For same-sex couples, there is an additional layer.

Plan Your Gay Honeymoon in the Caribbean
The Caribbean is a picture-perfect destination for a gay honeymoon. With its sun-drenched beaches, crystal clear waters, and world-class resorts, the Caribbean is a big draw for romantic trips. The Caribbean is home to some of the world’s most romantic beaches. Grace Bay Beach in Turks and Caicos is a picture-perfect beach with pristine waters and upscale beachfront resorts.

French Polynesia: Moorea, Bora Bora and the South Pacific
French Polynesia delivers the honeymoon people have been picturing for years: volcanic islands, impossibly clear lagoons and some of the best overwater villas in the world.
Moorea gives you mountains, snorkeling, hiking and a more exploratory few days before Bora Bora brings the full honeymoon finale. This is where you can disappear into an overwater villa, swim directly from your deck and have dinner beside the lagoon.
Japan: Tokyo, Kinosaki and Kyoto
Japan is ideal for couples who want the honeymoon to be built around experiences rather than a single resort.
Tokyo is fast, precise and endlessly interesting, with exceptional food and some of the world’s best hotels. Kyoto is quieter and more atmospheric, built around temples, gardens, traditional neighborhoods and centuries of craft.
Between them, we love adding a stay in an onsen town such as Kinosaki. A traditional ryokan, a multi-course kaiseki dinner and a few days at a completely different pace give the trip another dimension.
Japan rewards careful planning, which is exactly why it works so well as a tailor-made honeymoon.
The Maldives: Private Islands and Overwater Villas
The Maldives is one of the great honeymoon destinations for a reason. Each resort occupies its own island, the beaches are extraordinary, and some of the best hotels in the world have turned privacy into an art form.
For gay couples, choosing the right resort matters. The legal and cultural picture in the Maldives is more complicated than the experience inside the luxury resort islands, so this is a destination where our LGBTQ+ expertise is particularly valuable.
We work with properties we know and trust, where same-sex couples are welcomed properly and honeymooners are treated as honeymooners from the moment they arrive.
One dedicated honeymoon specialist from start to finish

French Polynesia: The Out Of Office Collection
French Polynesia Tailor-made HolidayFrench Polynesia remains one of the most extraordinary luxury destinations on earth. More than a hundred islands spread across the South Pacific, each with its own character, connected by short flights and the kind of lagoon water that makes everywhere else feel like a consolation prize. Marlon Brando discovered it filming Mutiny on the Bounty in the 1960s and liked it enough to buy an island.

The Maldives: The Out Of Office Collection
Tailor-made HolidayFew destinations do luxury quite like the Maldives. It's one of our most-requested destinations, and it's not hard to understand why. The Maldives is a resort destination in the purest sense.
