Le Tikehau by Pearl Resorts sits on Motu Tianoa, a pink-sand islet within the Tuamotu Archipelago, 220 miles north of Tahiti and less than an hour by air.

The only boutique hotel in the Tuamotu, the resort offers 29 suites and bungalows across overwater and beachfront settings, all built with traditional palm roofs and facing the lagoon.

Tikehau atoll formed over the crown of a 65-million-year-old submarine volcano, and its single ocean pass creates one of French Polynesia’s most wildlife-rich lagoons, with exceptional snorkeling, diving, and kayaking directly from the resort. A pink-sand beach runs along the front of the property, backed by a wild coconut grove and tropical garden that give the resort a remoteness that larger Polynesian properties cannot replicate.

As a Relais and Chateaux property, Le Tikehau combines boutique scale with genuine culinary and wellness ambition.

Two restaurants serve the resort from distinct positions and moods. Poreho Restaurant sits at the heart of the property with unobstructed lagoon views, combining Polynesian and European cooking from fresh local produce alongside the Kaina Bar for tropical cocktails and sundowners. Te Reka Ika is the newer addition, a more intimate venue where the menu centers on freshly caught Tikehau lagoon fish, prepared with precision and minimal intervention in an atmosphere of understated elegance.

Fare Massage by Tavai Spa operates from a dedicated fare within the resort grounds and draws exclusively on natural Polynesian ingredients. Tiare flowers, white sand, Taha’a vanilla, tropical fruits, and monoi oil feature across body, face, and hair treatments delivered by specialist therapists. The spa is open daily by appointment and is the only dedicated wellness facility in the Tuamotu.

Location

Tikehau sits 220 miles north of Tahiti in the Tuamotu Archipelago, formed from the coral-covered crown of an ancient submarine volcano. The atoll’s 177-square-mile lagoon opens to the ocean through a single pass, creating an enclosed ecosystem that supports some of the most diverse marine life in French Polynesia. The resort sits on Motu Tianoa, a 15-minute boat ride from the village of Tuherahera, with the atoll’s famous fish traps and pearl farms accessible by excursion.
