Kirana, meaning “ray of light,” is a four-bedroom beachfront villa on Sri Lanka’s southwestern coast near Bentota, designed by architect Channa Daswatte and run by the team behind Santani Wellness.
The villa sits directly on a quiet stretch of beach with a twenty-metre infinity pool looking out to sea, and the interiors are open-plan and light-filled, built around views of the gardens and ocean. It can be booked on a room-only basis or taken exclusively as a whole, sleeping up to eight guests.

Accommodation
Master Suite
Master Suite features doors out to the garden for easy and direct access, as well as a comfortable king-size bed.
It also features air-conditioning, a safe, and bath robes.
Garden Suite
The Garden Suite has a king-size bed and double doors opening directly onto the garden and pool, with the same level of finish as the Master Suite.
Family Suite
The Family Suite runs across two rooms, one with a king-size bed and one with twin beds, both with garden access. It works well for families or guests who want a little more space and separation.

Dining
Dining at Kirana follows the Santani concept of intelligent eating, built around the Ayurvedic philosophy of Rasa Haya, which translates as the six tastes.
Rather than designing menus around nutrients, the kitchen works with taste-based nutrition, balancing the six flavours to suit each guest’s individual needs.
Breakfast runs from continental and full cooked options to a traditional Sri Lankan spread.
Lunch and dinner draw on local seafood and Sri Lankan produce, with dietary requirements accommodated throughout.
The villa does not serve alcohol, though guests are welcome to bring their own.
Spa & Wellness
Massage and wellness treatments can be arranged on site throughout a stay.
The twenty-metre infinity pool and private beach are the main focal points for unwinding during the day, and the villa’s position on a quiet stretch of coast means there is very little to compete with the sound of the ocean.
Cycling and film nights can also be arranged for guests who want something to do between beach and pool time.
