Tintagel Colombo is a ten-suite boutique hotel in Cinnamon Gardens, one of Colombo’s most established residential neighbourhoods, set in a colonial mansion that served as the private home of three of Sri Lanka’s political leaders.
It is now run by the Paradise Road group and retains the feel of a private residence, with individually designed suites, a library of over 500 leather-bound books, commissioned artworks throughout and a courtyard at its centre.
The airport is around 45 minutes away, and ODEL Shopping Mall is a five-minute walk.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla stayed here during Sri Lanka’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, and the Royal Suites take their name from that visit.

Accommodation
Royal Suites
The Royal Suites are the largest option at Tintagel, with separate living rooms, mosaic-tiled bathrooms and large front balconies.
They were chosen by King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their Commonwealth Heads of Government visit, and the scale and finish reflect that.
Superior Suite
The Superior Suite sits on the ground floor and opens onto a private outdoor lounge with a plunge pool.
The colour palette is light blue and off-white throughout, with Spa Ceylon amenities in the bathroom.
It is the most private of the three room types and the one most guests ask for.
Executive Suite
The Executive Suites have high ceilings, timber floors and a blend of colour and texture that draws on the eclectic design ethos running through the whole property. Bathrooms have rain showers and bathtubs with large vanities.
A connecting door between the East and North East Executive Suites makes them a workable option for families with older children.

Food & Drink
The Courtyard
The more relaxed of the two main dining options, with ebony parasols shading circular tables and candlelight in the evenings. It serves international cuisine and is the place most guests gravitate to for lunch.
The Dining Room
The Dining Room is air-conditioned and more formal, with black banquettes and a trompe l’oeil interior. The menu is international and changes regularly, with dishes that sit well above the standard for hotel restaurants in Colombo.
The Red Bar
Decorated with antique French baroque candelabras and a château mirror, and serves cocktails and nightcaps in a setting that rewards dressing up for. A private dining room off the bar serves canapés and petit fours for more intimate occasions.
Spa & Wellness
The spa offers massages with aromatherapy oils, with treatments available in the spa rooms or in-suite on request.
The lap pool sits within the courtyard and is surrounded by commissioned artworks. A gym and steam room are also available on site.
The library, with over 500 leather-bound books and complimentary internet access, is worth knowing about for quieter afternoons between city exploring.
