Rock Villa is a boutique hotel on Bentota Beach surrounded by 2 acres of elegant gardens. It’s a great setting for river safaris, wind surfing and jet skiing. The owner of the resort, Taru, is a celebrated interior designer. Rock Villa is her former holiday home. The style is colonial and the colours are understated. You’ll find contemporary Sri Lankan artworks throughout the property.
You can have a cocktail on the beach in the shade of mangroves, use the spa in the pavilion and sprawl out in a hammock draped between coconut palms.

Whilst the legal situation for LGBTQ+ people in Sri Lanka is less than ideal, travellers to the country will find a different reality as the majority of resorts and hotels provide safe haven for foreign queer people. Whilst some discretion is advised, Sri Lanka is an incredibly popular gay travel destination.

Similar to the Standard Rooms but with private terraces, the Superior Doubles are larger and they have a homely feel.
The Pool Suite has two bedrooms, one of which can be booked separately. The pool and dining pavilion can be used privately if both rooms are booked together. If they are booked separately the pool area will be shared with the adjoining Pool Suite.
This two bedroom suite has a private dining area, living area, kitchenette, patio and TV lounge. Both rooms have king sized beds and rain showers. Ideal choice if you’re looking for a little more privacy.

Dining Options
The food at Rock Villa is casual yet very sophisticated. The breakfasts range from full English to continental. You may need to pre-order your evening meal to give the chef time to prepare. The food ranges from lobster to crab risotto and sticky toffee pudding. You can also opt for a more informal al fresco barbecue.
