Sun Aqua Vilu Reef is located on South Nilandhe Atoll. It’s home to 56 tropical coral islands and the beach villas are built over a coral reef. All of the villas are shaded by swaying palm trees. Here you can stay in one of the Maldives’ iconic overwater bungalows, and wake up each morning to the sound of the Indian Ocean. It’s a very stylish resort with a classic Maldivian feel.
This resort is fairly compact so you can easily walk around without needing to call for a buggy. There are 62 Land Villas and 41 Overwater Villas. This is an especially popular resort for a romantic vacation.

Despite having problematic laws concerning LGBTQ+ rights, the Maldives is one of Out Of Office’s most popular destinations. The Beach Villas feature all-white interiors accented with tropical themes and direct sea views. The glass panelled doors lead onto your own private sun deck. You can stroll straight from your sun deck to the beach.
You can also upgrade to a Deluxe Beach Villa. It has more space and a luxurious bath in an open-air courtyard. If you’re feeling really luxurious, opt for the Jacuzzi Deluxe Beach Villa.
Perched over the lagoon, the Reef Villas come with a jet tub, a chaise lounge on a deck and a swim-up platform with direct lagoon access. Overlooking the ocean and the lagoon you’ll wake up to a classic Maldivian setting every morning.
Experience the classic overwater bungalow experience in the Maldives. The Aqua Villas come with a freestanding bathtub, rainshower and chaise longue. The outside area has a sun deck and an infinity plunge pool. A staircase leads directly to the lagoon.

Sun Aqua Vilu Reef offers a number of dining options. The Aqua is a gastro-hub that serves international cuisine morning, noon and night. Try the Maldives’ world-class seafood in a beachside setting at The Well Done. Nautilus is the place to drink cocktails in a dreamy setting. Try a selection of wines at The Wine Cellar – wine in the Maldives is of course imported, so it’s a very international selection. For a more informal meal head to Island Pizza. Private Destination Dining is very popular in the Maldives and it’s ideal if you’re on a romantic trip.
