Niyama is spread out over two private islands, “Play” and “Chill”. As you may have guessed, “Chill” is more geared towards relaxation and romance, whereas “Play” is geared towards family-friendly activities. Both islands are connected by a bridge. Niyama is a very modern, chic resort at the forefront of luxury design. Expect stunning interiors built from locally sourced materials, large thatched roofs, bamboo and marble floors. As well as being supremely stylish, it’s also eco-friendly.

All villas come with a butler. Your butler can arrange boat tours, snorkelling and many other watersports for you. There’s also a gym, badminton court and yoga sessions if you’d like to stay active. There a many excellent dining options to choose from, including one of the Maldives finest underwater restaurants. Niyama is undoubtedly one of the top luxury resorts in the Maldives.

Despite having problematic laws concerning LGBTQ+ rights, the Maldives is one of Out Of Office’s most popular destinations. Due to the geography of the Maldives, each island is essentially run by the resort that occupies it. We work with an incredible selection of resorts, many of which have LGBTQ+ management, that are welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community.

Activities

One of the best things about the Maldives is the lack of things to do! You don’t have to visit every art gallery, because there aren’t any. You can just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and luxury amenities of your resort. The Maldives does offer some activities, however – chiefly watersports.

At Niyama, you can swim with hammerhead sharks, jet ski, wakeboard and take a catamaran cruise. Surfers will do well here. Ride the waves of the Indian Ocean – this is nature’s playground so the waves are quite impressive. Supposing you’d like to learn about the fascinating flora and fauna under the sea, you can join a marine biologist and go for a private snorkelling session.
