Despite having problematic laws concerning LGBTQ+ rights, the Maldives is one of Out Of Office’s most popular destinations. Due to the geography of the Maldives, each island is essentially run by the resort that occupies it. We work with an incredible selection of resorts, many of which have LGBTQ+ management, that are welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community.
The Beach Villas overlook crystal lagoons and soft sand beaches. All villas at Niyama come with a private sun deck, outdoor and covered rain showers, loungers, Dohni-shape swings, LED TV and Maldivian butler service. The Beach Villa can fit two adults and two children.
You can also upgrade to a Water Pool Villa with direct lagoon access and a private pool.
A supremely luxurious option, the Deluxe Water Pool Villa is very spacious and it gives you direct lagoon access. The marble bathrooms are huge and come with two showers and double vanity sinks. This is an ideal choice if you’re looking to give your significant other a trip to remember.
At 255 sqm, the Family Beach Pool Villa fits up to three adults and two children. It opens onto the beach. You’ll wake up to sunset views each morning. There’s plenty of space for kids to play, a private pool, al fresco bathing and outdoor rainshowers shaded by virgin palm fronds. This is the best setting for families to enjoy the Maldives in style.
The Beach Pool Pavilion offers 400 sqm of pure luxury. This is the height of modern Maldivian elegance. You’ll have a king bedroom, separate living and dining areas, a Humidor with cigars and a Butler’s pantry with extra fridge, ice-maker, microwave and wine refrigerator – your private butler could really rustle up a storm for you.
A selection of classic overwater bungalows that can fit 14 adults and 8 children. You’ll have 5 villas in total, each with a private pool. The Crescent comes with a private chef, two butlers, a sunset cruise and private barbecue. A grand option, even by Elizabeth Taylor standards.
Enjoy all-day dining at BLU. Mediterranean inspired dishes and also Asian fusion options. BLU also has a poolside ice cream parlour. A good choice for breakfast.
A more laidback all-day dining option. Flaky pastries, fruit and omelettes are part of the large breakfast buffet. Choose from 18 teas and 260 wine labels.
Experience fine dining half a kilometre out in the ocean – accessible by boat only. Taste fine cuisine as the clear waters lap around the restaurant.
Enjoy experimental Asian foods in a lively treetop setting. Teppanyaki, Thai, Chinese and Indonesian – a great place for lunch.
One of the most unforgettable dining experiences in the Maldives. Here you can enjoy champagne breakfasts, subaquatic lunches, wine tastings and destination dining. The Maldives is the native home of underwater dining.
Dine on the soft white sands. A Maasai warrior welcomes you with a Dawa – a sweet African cocktail. Enjoy heart dishes, like the Big Afrikaaner and Warm Ostrich Bobotie.
If you’d like a drink in the evening, head to Fahrenheit – a rooftop bar with Indian Ocean views. You can also head to The Delhi and grab a quick bite to go. In-room dining options can be arranged by your butler. You can also go for Destination Dining and enjoy a romantic dinner on the beach. Joing one of the cooking classes if you’d like to bring some of Niyama’s amazing recipes home with you.
One of the best things about the Maldives is the lack of things to do! You don’t have to visit every art gallery, because there aren’t any. You can just enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and luxury amenities of your resort. The Maldives does offer some activities, however – chiefly watersports.
At Niyama, you can swim with hammerhead sharks, jet ski, wakeboard and take a catamaran cruise. Surfers will do well here. Ride the waves of the Indian Ocean – this is nature’s playground so the waves are quite impressive. Supposing you’d like to learn about the fascinating flora and fauna under the sea, you can join a marine biologist and go for a private snorkelling session.
