Angsana Velavaru, a premium all-inclusive resort in the Maldives’ Dhaalu Atoll, divides its island between beachfront pool villas and a separate village of overwater InOcean villas reached by boat.
Angsana Velavaru does the Maldives in two acts. The main island, in Dhaalu Atoll and 40 minutes by seaplane from Malé, holds beachfront pool villas among the greenery, while a separate cluster of two-storey InOcean villas stands over the lagoon, reached by boat for a castaway feel. 113 villas in all.
The local name is Velavaru, or Turtle Island, and the resort takes that to heart. A marine lab runs turtle and coral conservation you can join, snorkelers and divers get 30-plus sites nearby, including a whale shark spot, and water sports are included. The Angsana Spa adds Asian-inspired treatments and aromatherapy.
Dining spreads across five venues, with all-day buffets at the beachside Kaani, Mediterranean plates at the overwater Azzurro, Pan-Asian at Funa, and pool-deck drinks at Kuredhi. Two all-inclusive packages cover the eating and most activities. It suits divers, families, and couples alike.

Accommodation
Beachfront Villa
The Beachfront Villa has an ocean-facing bed and a spacious outdoor deck. Unwind on a sun lounger and enjoy direct ocean views. You can also upgrade to a Beachfront Villa with a jet pool. Supposing you’re marking a really special occasion, you can opt for a Deluxe Beachfront Pool villa. It offers all the luxuries of the standard Beachfront Villa, only with double the space.
Angsana Villa
Located right on the beachfront, the Angsana Villa has two bedrooms and it’s the largest villa on the island. There’s a separate living room, dining room and lounge. It’s ideal if you’re travelling in a larger group.
InOcean Pool Villa
There are 14 InOcean Pool Villas surrounded by stunning ocean views. The InOcean Pool Villa have infinity pools and a pool deck. It’s a unique and luxurious way to experience the Maldives iconic overwater bungalows.

Dining
Where you eat depends partly on where you sleep. On the main island, Kaani runs beachside international buffets with live stations and nightly themes, while the InOcean villas have their own overwater Mediterranean spot, Azzurro. Funa covers Pan-Asian all day, and the Kuredhi pool bar pours cocktails until late with live music. For something private, the kitchen sets up destination dinners on the beach or a villa rooftop.
Wellness
Angsana built its name on aromatherapy, and the spa makes the most of it. Treatments blend native botanicals like jasmine and frangipani with the work of expert therapists, drawing on Asian healing traditions to reset body and mind. A bright fitness center is on hand for anyone keeping a routine, and guided yoga sessions run against an open backdrop of sea and sky. It keeps things calm and unfussy.
Activities
Conservation is woven into the day here. The on-island marine lab leads turtle and coral projects guests can lend a hand to, fitting for a place called Turtle Island. Diving is a real draw, with a PADI center, 30-plus sites within reach, and a whale shark spot among them. Add kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing, and island-hopping by boat, plus a Rangers Club to keep younger guests busy.
