The Ritz-Carlton is one of the best luxury resorts in the Maldives. This property takes luxury to another level. The service is as meticulous as you’d expect for a resort at this level. You’ll have your own butler: the service is inspired by the royal courts of ancient Maldives. There are two types of room to choose from: Beach Villas or Overwater Villas.
The accommodation is quite something. All of the villas are large in size – they feel more like private homes. In terms of style, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives has a copper colour theme throughout. It’s the epitome of understated luxury. If you’re looking to stay somewhere really special in the Maldives you’ll struggle to top The Ritz-Carlton.

You can choose from an Ocean Pool Villa or a Lagoon Pool Villa. You’ll have panoramic ocean or sunset views. Integrated sundecks with infinity pools give the villas an added air of luxury. The oversize kind beds face the ocean – you’ll wake up to truly incredible views. The floor to ceiling windows are a nice touch.
The bathrooms are also of the highest standard. You’ll have a separate bathtub in the room and a separate shower room with a large rain shower head – not to mention the extra outdoor shower too.
As we mentioned before, the villas are huge. You’ll have the classic Maldives overwater villa experience, only with the added touches that take this resort to the next level. Bamford shower and bath products add the final extra luxurious touch.
The Beach Villas has all the amenities you’ll find in the Overwater Villas. Although people tend to favour Overwater Villas, a Beach Villa is actually a larger room category – with all the features of the overwater villas but what feels like your own beach to step out onto. An advantage of staying in a beach villa is uninterrupted sunshine all day long.
It’s just a few sandy footsteps from the beach to the lagoon. You’ll essentially have your own private beach and the privacy on each villa is excellent. Seamless transition from indoors to out gives you direct beach access from the villa and the oversized daybed is perfect for lounging by your own private pool.
