Shandrani Beachcomber Resort and Spa sits on a private peninsula in Blue Bay on the south-east coast of Mauritius, surrounded by 70 acres of tropical gardens and bordered by three separate beaches lapped by the Blue Bay Marine Park.
The resort reopened in October 2025 following a four-month renovation that introduced redesigned rooms, new room categories, and an adults-only wing called Shandrani for Two. The south-east position places the resort approximately 15 minutes by road from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, the most direct transfer of any resort on the island.
The Blue Bay Marine Park is a protected lagoon holding one of the richest coral reef systems in Mauritius, with sea turtles, reef sharks, and over 50 species of coral within its boundaries. The resort’s three beaches each face a different direction, from the sheltered lagoon beach suited to water sports to the wilder southern beach alongside the pitch and putt golf course.

Accommodation
Tropical Rooms
The Tropical Room and Tropical Ground Floor Room both cover 50 square meters in a split-level layout, with the bathroom on a raised platform and the bedroom and sitting area below, accommodating a maximum of three guests. Upper floor rooms are bathed in natural light with light wood furniture and a shaded balcony. Ground floor rooms have a shaded terrace with garden views..
Deluxe Rooms
The Deluxe Room and Deluxe Ground Floor Room cover 60 square meters and accommodate a maximum of four guests. Both have a bedroom leading to a separate lounge area, with a balcony or terrace, light wood furniture, and interiors combining touches of orange and green against soft beige throughout.
Senior Suite
The Senior Suite covers 110 square meters on the first floor, with a private staircase providing direct access to the beach and a king-size bed overlooking a balcony with views of the beach and lagoon. Red and purple accents run through the interiors alongside parquet flooring and large windows. The bathroom includes a bathtub, a large open shower, and separate toilets. Suited to couples and honeymooners.
Two-Bedroom Family Apartments
The 2-Bedroom Family Apartment is available on the ground floor, covering 75 square meters with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms for parents and children, and a private terrace, accommodating a maximum of five guests.
The 2-Bedroom Deluxe Family Apartment is a larger configuration with the same two-bedroom layout in a more complete finish, suited to families who want additional space and amenities.
Shandrani for Two
The adults-only wing features 27 Beach Rooms on the ground floor, steps from the shoreline, and 42 Bay View Rooms on the upper floors with balconies overlooking the bay. Both categories cover 50 square meters, accommodate a maximum of two guests, and have exclusive access to a private beach, Serendipity restaurant, and the Purple for Two beachfront bar.

Food & Drink
Le Grand Port
The main buffet restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily with lagoon views and a Creole-influenced international menu.
Ponte Vecchio
The resort’s Italian restaurant overlooking the lagoon, serving classic Italian dishes for evening dining.
Teak Elephant
An Asian restaurant serving Thai and Oriental dishes, open for dinner.
Further Dining and Bars
Le Sirius serves grilled seafood and local specialties on the beach. Natura focuses on fresh, organic cuisine throughout the day. Serendipity in the adults-only wing is open for all meals. La Rhumerie serves cocktails, local rum, and live music, and Purple for Two serves cocktails and light bites on the beachfront within the adults-only wing.
Spa & Wellness
The Beachcomber Spa offers massages, facials, and body treatments using natural products in a dedicated spa facility. Two swimming pools sit within the resort grounds, each with its own poolside bar.
Six floodlit tennis courts, a nine-hole pitch and putt golf course landscaped into the tropical gardens, and a full program of complimentary water sports including water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and snorkeling in the Blue Bay Marine Park are all available throughout the stay.
The Beachcomber Sport and Nature ecotourism program offers mountain biking, trekking, canyoning, and guided nature walks. A kids club runs daily programs for children aged three to eleven, with a separate Petit Club for children aged two to three.
