Originally built as an architect’s gift to his wife, Paraiso de la Bonita sits between Cancún and Playa del Carmen on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, with eclectic personal detail running through the design. The hotel is part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection and the Royalton Reserve Collection, and operates as adults-only and all-inclusive.
The accommodation runs to 100 oceanfront suites in total, all with private balconies or terraces. Plunge and infinity pools come with select categories, and the two-bedroom Presidential Suite offers panoramic Caribbean views and a private plunge pool.
The wellness offering is led by one of the few open-air thalasso centers in the Caribbean, with saltwater rituals at the edge of the sea. Dining is split across three signature restaurants, including K’uhul for ancestral Mexican cooking on a traditional comal and Côté à Costa for Mediterranean cooking with a 2,750-label wine cellar.

Dining
Paraiso de la Bonita runs three signature restaurants. K’uhul handles ancestral Mexican cooking on a traditional comal in an indoor and alfresco setting. Côté à Costa is the Mediterranean fine-dining venue, with cooking from southern France and coastal Italy, an open kitchen, rotating contemporary art, and a 2,750-label wine cellar. Joya covers Latin American cooking in an open-air beachfront setting. Buena Onda poolside lounge and the Bonita lobby piano bar round out the program.
Wellness
The resort’s signature wellness experience is the open-air thalasso center, with a beachfront saltwater pool infused with ocean minerals, one of the few true thalassotherapy setups in the Caribbean. The spa menu covers massages, facials, and body treatments with sweeping ocean views, alongside a traditional Mesoamerican Temazcal ceremony using volcanic stones and native herbs. A full fitness center handles cardio, strength, and yoga by the sea.
Location
Paraiso de la Bonita is on the Caribbean coast of the Riviera Maya in Quintana Roo, between Cancún and Playa del Carmen. Cancún International Airport is around 25 minutes north by car, with Playa del Carmen 20 minutes south for restaurants, shopping, and the Cozumel ferry. Tulum and its archaeological zone are around 90 minutes south, and the resort has a private heliport for direct arrivals.
