At a glance
COMO Maalifushi is COMO’s largest private island resort in the Maldives, set in the remote Thaa Atoll after a 60-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport.
The journey south places the resort among uninhabited islands, world-class surf breaks, and some of the least disturbed marine life in the Indian Ocean.
Beach villas, beach suites, and water villas are available as one or two-bedroom configurations, each with a private pool and direct access to either the beach or the ocean. The resident COMO Shambhala spa and daily yoga program anchor the wellness offering, while Tropicsurf partnerships, game fishing, fly fishing, and the overnight Lavadhoo sleepover on a private uninhabited island give the resort an activity depth that goes well beyond a standard Maldives luxury property.
Complimentary weekly talks with a marine biologist, kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkel gear are included for all guests throughout their stay.

Dining
Three venues cover the full dining range at COMO Maalifushi. Madi is the main beachside restaurant, named after the Dhivehi word for manta ray, with menus built around the region’s seafood, fruit, and vegetables alongside three themed dinner nights each week. Tai is the Japanese counterpart, an oceanside restaurant serving sushi and sashimi from sustainable Indian Ocean seafood, open for lunch, dinner, and sunset cocktails. Thila is the open-air bar and casual option, set on sand with full access to Madi’s menu for pool and beach guests. Private dining extends to a floating breakfast delivered to your villa pool, a beachfront champagne and caviar breakfast, and castaway picnic excursions to a deserted island prepared by the resort’s chefs.
Wellness
COMO Shambhala Retreat at COMO Maalifushi is an award-winning holistic wellness facility with overwater treatment rooms facing open ocean and an open-air yoga pavilion. Structured programs include the COMO Shambhala Wellness Experience, which combines mindful movement, therapeutic treatment, and recovery, and a four-day digestive reset cleanse built around cold-pressed juices, warm broths, and herbal teas from the COMO Shambhala Kitchen. Daily yoga sessions, in-room yoga mats, and meditation content are available to all guests, with monthly rotating wellness offers throughout the year.
Activities
COMO Maalifushi sits in the Thaa Atoll surrounded by uninhabited islands and some of the most consistent surf conditions in the Maldives. Tropicsurf runs all surfing excursions at all levels from the resort, while the Marine Sports Centre handles light tackle fishing, fly fishing, and game fishing for blue marlin, yellowfin, wahoo, and sailfish. Snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding are complimentary throughout the stay, and weekly talks with a resident marine biologist run alongside the activity schedule. The Lavadhoo overnight sleepover on a private uninhabited island is the resort’s signature experience, with the entire island reserved exclusively for one group per booking.
