The Nautilus is an ultra-private 26-house resort on Thiladhoo Island in Baa Atoll, built around a no-schedules ethos where dining, timing, and the day are entirely yours to set.
Spread across the private island of Thiladhoo in the UNESCO-listed Baa Atoll, The Nautilus runs on a simple idea: nothing is fixed. There are no set mealtimes, no dress codes, and no schedules, with the whole resort built around bespoke, on-demand service that lets guests shape the day as they want it. The island is reached by a 30-minute seaplane flight from Malé, on either the resort’s own eight-seat seaplane or a scheduled Manta Air service.
Accommodation runs to just 26 beach and ocean houses, each with a separate living room, private pool, and direct access to the sand or lagoon. Larger Residences, a Retreat, and a Mansion sit at the top of the range, and the whole island is available for exclusive buyout.
Dining covers four restaurants, all available whenever you want them, and the resort balances its couples’ appeal with strong childcare through the Young Wonderers program.

With the ability to step out from your house straight into your own private pool as well as the ocean, these rooms are perhaps one of the best in the Maldives.

Dining
Dining follows the resort’s no-schedules approach, with four restaurants open whenever guests want them. Zeytoun is the signature, serving refined European and Mediterranean cooking with an upper-deck lounge for pre-dinner drinks. Ocaso is the alfresco beach grill, ranging from Latin American to Japanese, Mexican, and Peruvian. Thyme covers all-day international dining in a beach-house setting, and Naiboli is the poolside lounge with complimentary gourmet canapés. An Ananda Ayurvedic menu, tailored by dosha, is also available.
Wellness
The overwater Solasta Spa is the wellness center, with three glass-floored treatment pavilions, an overwater yoga pavilion, two relaxation lounges, and a sauna, steam bath, and open-air bath. Treatments run from massages and facials to Eastern practices including shiatsu, reiki, and Tibetan singing sound baths, with natural and organic products from Maison Caulières and Omorovicza. In keeping with the island ethos, the spa is open at any hour, and in-house treatments are available.
Location
The Nautilus is on the private island of Thiladhoo in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in the central Maldives, around a 30-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport at Malé. The Baa Atoll is known for Hanifaru Bay, one of the world’s largest manta and whale shark aggregation sites, at its best during the Southwest monsoon between May and October. The island is ringed by white-sand beaches and house reefs.
