At a glance

Aman Tokyo occupies the top six floors of the Otemachi Tower in Chiyoda-ku, the city’s central business district. The Imperial Palace Gardens are directly below, and the tower connects to Otemachi station for access to five subway lines and a short walk to Tokyo Station. Haneda Airport is a 40-minute drive and Narita is around an hour.

Set above the Imperial Palace Gardens in Chiyoda-ku, Aman Tokyo completes the brand’s Japan trio alongside Aman Kyoto and Amanemu. The position works as well for business as it does for sightseeing, with Otemachi station’s five subway lines connected to the building and Tokyo Station a short walk away.

The design pulls heavily from Japanese tradition. Washi paper, stone, and untreated wood run through the interiors, with ikebana displays in the lobby and engawa platforms framing the windows. The lobby itself is one of the largest in the city, with a six-storey atrium opening up the floor.

Rooms are styled in ryokan tradition, all with floor-to-ceiling windows over the skyline, shoji sliding doors, and traditional stone furo baths. City Suites start at 121 sqm and the 157 sqm Aman Suite sits at the top of the range.

Further information

Dining

Aman Tokyo runs four restaurants. Musashi by Aman is the signature, an Edomae omakase counter built around hinoki cypress where master chef Musashi works directly in front of guests. Arva covers southern Italian cooking under Venice-trained chef Masakazu Hiraki, La Pâtisserie handles homemade breads and pastries on B2, and The Lounge by Aman is known for one of Tokyo’s more creative afternoon teas, served with skyline views.

Wellness

The Aman Spa spans 2,500 sqm across two floors, making it the largest hotel spa in Tokyo. Eight treatment rooms come with private dressing areas, steam showers, and relaxation spaces, and the facilities run to a 30-metre heated indoor pool, traditional Japanese baths, steam rooms, and a Pilates studio with reformers. Every treatment opens with the Misogi ritual, a Shinto water-based purification.

The destination

Japan

Japan stretches 1,900 miles from subtropical Okinawa to subarctic Hokkaido, divided into four main islands and thousands of smaller ones. Most luxury itineraries focus on Honshu, the largest island, where Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Hiroshima anchor different regional experiences. The country’s mountainous spine means population clusters along coastlines and valleys, connected by infrastructure that makes complex multi-city trips surprisingly manageable. The Shinkansen bullet train network handles intercity travel between major destinations.

Japan Gay Honeymoon: Tokyo, Kinosaki Onsen & Kyoto

Tailor-made Vacation

Japan gives you something very few honeymoon destinations can: the trip can change completely every few days without ever feeling disjointed. One night you can be at an omakase counter high above Tokyo, two days later eating kaiseki in a ryokan and soaking in hot spring water in Kinosaki, then finishing in Kyoto with temple districts, gardens and some of the best small-scale dining in the country. That variety is the appeal.

Shikoku & Naoshima Tour – Art, Hot Springs & Rural Japan

Tailor-made Vacation

This is a Japan trip for travelers who want to spend most of their time away from the Tokyo-Kyoto axis. The appeal is not one famous sight after another, but the way the trip moves between places with very different identities: an art island in the Seto Inland Sea, a self-drive through the mountains of Shikoku, old onsen towns and small regional cities that most international itineraries pass straight by.
