This once in a lifetime gay group trip to Antarctica is one you cannot miss. Antarctica is a bucket list destination and now you can visit this incredible place with a group of like-minded people.
You will spend 11 days sailing through the Antarctic waters where you will explore bays, and venture inland to explore the environment. You will see all kinds of animals during the trip including Weddell seals, elephant seals and rookeries of penguins.
Our 2026 & 2027 Basecamp Cruises extend two days beyond the daily agenda mentioned here. These special cruises offer complimentary camping, kayaking, snowshoe hiking, mountaineering, and a photo workshop.

Day 1: Ushuaia and Ship Embarkation
After a chilled day in Ushuaia in Argentina you will pick up last minute supplies before boarding the MV Plancius which will be your home for the next 10 days. You will then set sail for the Beagle Channel.
Day 2 to 3: Drake Passage
Over the coming two days you will sail through Drake Passage where the waters of the South Atlantic and the Southern Ocean converge. You will see many species of bird including Petrels (Blue, Wilson’s Storm, and Antarctic); Albatross (Wandering, Grey-Headed, Black-browed, and Light-mantled Sooty); Southern Fulmars; and Cape Pigeons. Keep an eye out for icebergs (not that they are hard to miss!)
Day 4 to 8: Antarctica
You will spend the next four days exploring Antarctica. Sailing through the Melchior, Brabant, and Anvers Islands to name a few. You will have the opportunity to see many colonies including Gentoo Penguins, Antarctic Terns, Dominican Gulls and Crabeater Seals.
Glide past majestic icebergs, deep-cut fjords, glaciers, and alpine peaks. Spend some time up on deck as here you have the best views when spotting Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whales.
To experience this awesome place in full head out on a kayak or Zodiac cruise and head on land for some hiking for full appreciation of the landscape. If you can bear the cold, then there is an option to camp on land for a truly unique experience. (Any additional activities will require pre-registration as they always sell out!).
A big part of this trip is a visit to the research station. You will be educated about the projects the scientists are working on and the discoveries they have made. The Vernadsky Research Base is where the hole in the ozone layer was first discovered and is also home to the world’s southernmost bar!
Day 9 to 10: Drake Passage
Today you will start to make your way back to Drake Passage after your incredible experience. You will have the chance to spot the many species of bird again.
Day 11: Departure
You will arrive in Ushuaia Harbour where you will bid your final farewells to your new friends. You will be transferred to Ushuaia airport where you can catch your flight to your next destination.
