Dusit Thani Maldives sits on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll, the Maldives’ only UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, 35 minutes by seaplane from Velana International Airport.
The 16-hectare island holds 94 villas and residences combining Thai furnishings with a Maldivian design approach, set around a 360-degree living house reef and one of the Maldives’ largest infinity pools.
The Devarana Spa features six deluxe treatment pods elevated among the island’s palm trees, and the resort’s Thai identity runs throughout the property from the architecture to the signature overwater restaurant, Benjarong. Hanifaru Bay, one of the Maldives’ most celebrated manta ray and whale shark sites, is a five-minute speedboat ride from the resort.
For families, the Baan Sanook Kids Club features a treehouse and outdoor play areas, and the resort holds marine conservation programs, Thai cooking classes, and cocktail-making sessions throughout the year.

Overwater Pool Villa
180 sq m of indoor and outdoor space with subtle Thai touches throughout, glass windows and doors facing the Indian Ocean, an oversized bathtub, and a private overwater pool with direct reef access from the villa’s lower deck.
Overwater Pavilion
A sunset-facing 370 sq m two-bedroom villa suspended above the ocean, with a living area, indoor and outdoor dining, wine cellar, kitchenette, and a large private pool on the veranda. Well suited to families or two couples traveling together.
Beach Residence
A two-level 560 sq m retreat with a master bedroom and sea-view balcony on the upper floor, a twin bedroom connecting to a patio with an oversized pool at ground level, plus a wine cellar and kitchenette throughout.
Three-Bedroom Beach Residence
The largest standalone villa at 690 sq m, with a master king bedroom opening to a private terrace, a ground floor living area leading to veranda and outdoor dining, and a separate neighboring villa with its own plunge pool, beach pavilion, and king bedroom connected through a tropical courtyard.

Dining
Six venues span the full range from international buffet to overwater fine dining. Benjarong is the signature restaurant, serving authentic Thai cuisine with vintage wine pairings above the lagoon. Sea Grill handles fresh seafood and grilled cuts from an open kitchen poolside, Sala focuses on plant-based dishes above the water, and Sand Bar covers cocktails and snacks at sunset. The Borderless Dining program takes meals to private locations across the island, including a floating villa pool breakfast.
Wellness
Devarana Wellness takes its name from the Thai concept of a garden in heaven, with six treatment pods elevated among the coconut palms above the island. Treatments draw on Thai healing traditions alongside contemporary techniques, and the treetop setting gives the spa a distinctive character that differs from the standard overwater treatment rooms found across the Maldives. Yoga instruction, a floodlit tennis court, and a fully equipped gym complete the offering.
Activities
The 360-degree living house reef surrounding Mudhdhoo Island is among the most accessible in the Maldives for snorkeling and diving, with the Ocean Dive Centre handling everything from beginner dives to game fishing and sunset cruises. Hanifaru Bay, one of the world’s top sites for manta ray and whale shark aggregations, is five minutes by speedboat. Marine conservation programs, Thai cooking classes, and a kids club with a treehouse round out the program on the island.
