Criollo House, formerly Chateau Elysium, is a boutique beachfront guesthouse and villas on Beau Vallon Beach, Mahé, in the Seychelles.
It is a small, colonial-style property right on Beau Vallon, the most popular beach on Mahé’s northwest coast. Accommodation splits between king rooms in the main house, with terraces or balconies, and private garden villas, each with its own plunge pool.
The villas, among them Les Jolies Eaux, Villa Blanc, and Las Brisas, run to two and three bedrooms with kitchens, sitting areas, and patios, a fit for families or groups. The mood is low-key and personal rather than full-service resort, with a tropical garden between the buildings and the sand.
Staff cook Creole and international meals on request, and the beach does the rest, with diving, snorkeling, and a string of bars and restaurants a short walk away. It suits couples, gay or straight, after a relaxed, well-placed base, and the Seychelles is welcoming to LGBTQ+ travelers.

Accommodation
Ocean View Suite
A king room in the colonial main house, with an en-suite bathroom and a private terrace or balcony facing Beau Vallon and the sea. These are the pick of the main-house rooms for the view, a short step from the sand and the shared pool.
Mountain View Suite
The same king rooms in the main house, looking inland to the green hills behind Beau Vallon rather than out to sea. They are a quieter, more sheltered choice, with the same en-suite bathroom, terrace or balcony, and easy access to the beach and pool.
Two-Bedroom Villa
A self-contained villa in the garden, with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, a sitting area, and a private patio with its own plunge pool. It works well for a small family or two couples who want their own space, privacy, and kitchen, with the beach a short walk away.
Three-Bedroom Villas
The three largest villas, Villa Blanc, Les Jolies Eaux, and Las Brisas, each have three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room with a full kitchen, and a terrace with a private plunge pool. They suit families or groups wanting a private house by the beach, similar in layout.

Dining
Criollo House is a small, self-catering-friendly property rather than a restaurant-led one. The villas have their own kitchens, and the staff will cook Creole and international meals on request, breakfast included, served in the main house or out in the garden. The real draw is the location: Beau Vallon has one of Mahé’s densest clusters of restaurants and beach bars, most of them a short walk along the sand.
Activities
Beau Vallon is the watersports hub of Mahé, so diving and snorkeling are the obvious draws, with dive centers on the beach and boat trips out to Ste Anne Marine Park and nearby islands. Big-game fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding are easy to arrange. Inland, Mahé offers hiking in Morne Seychellois National Park, the market and botanical gardens in Victoria, and day trips by ferry to Praslin and La Digue.
Location
Criollo House is on Beau Vallon, a wide, sheltered bay on the northwest coast of Mahé and the island’s busiest, most sociable beach. The location is the selling point: calm water for swimming, a long sweep of sand, and a walkable run of restaurants, bars, and dive shops right outside. Victoria, the Seychelles capital, is about ten minutes away, and the international airport is around 30 minutes by car.
