At a glance
This 7-night journey takes you deep into the High Atlas. We design this itinerary with LGBTQ+ travelers in mind, working with trusted local guides and accommodations where you’ll be welcomed without question.
Begin in Marrakech, wandering through spice-scented souks and the tiled courtyards of ancient palaces. Then trade the city’s energy for the green folds of the Atlas, where the Berber Valley of Aït Bouguemez opens into terraced fields and stone villages that seem carved from the mountainside itself.
Trek through valleys where shepherds still move their flocks by hand. Visit villages where bread is baked in communal ovens and mint tea is poured from height. Sleep in guesthouses run by families who’ve lived here for generations, and wake to the sight of Mount M’goun rising over the ridgeline.
The hike to M’goun’s summit is steep and rewarding. Views stretch across the Atlas in every direction, and the silence at altitude is absolute. In the evenings, share tagines and stories with your Berber hosts, learning customs that predate the cities by centuries.
The journey ends in Fès, where the medina’s narrow lanes wind past leather tanneries, wood-carvers’ workshops, and the oldest university in the world. From the quiet of Aït Bouguemez to the living history of Fès, this is Morocco at its most authentic.
