At a glance
Built in 1889 at the height of Aspen’s silver boom, Hotel Jerome is the town’s original high-end hotel and, more than 130 years on, is still one of its most luxurious.
The only hotel in Aspen to survive the silver crash, the Depression and the long pre-ski winters, Jerome has accumulated a guest list that reads like a cultural history of America. Cowboys, 10th Mountain Division soldiers, Hunter S. Thompson holding court at the J-Bar. The stories are part of what you are paying for.
The modern hotel delivers serious luxury alongside that history. 93 individually designed rooms, the Michelin-recommended Prospect restaurant serving high-altitude Colorado cuisine, and the Yarrow Spa for post-mountain recovery.
What makes Jerome stand apart from Aspen’s newer five-star options is that no amount of money can manufacture what it has. Voted one of the top three resorts in the US by Travel and Leisure, it remains the benchmark.

Highlights
- The only hotel in Aspen to have survived every chapter of the town’s history since 1889.
- Michelin-recommended Prospect restaurant serving bold, seasonal Colorado cuisine rooted in local high-altitude ingredients.
- 93 individually designed rooms ranging from deluxe kings to full residential suites with mountain views.
Accommodation
Premier King
At 545 square feet, the Premier King is where Hotel Jerome’s heritage is most visible. Vaulted ceilings, arched windows, cashmere curtains, cowhide chairs and tree-stump lamps create a room that feels both unmistakably luxurious and entirely specific to Aspen.
Executive Suite
At 775 square feet, the Executive Suite balances generous space with genuine mountain character. A king bedroom and oversized living room flow into a dining area for six, with a wet bar, powder room and views across the garden and Aspen Mountain.
Presidential Suite
The Presidential Suite occupies the original building at Hotel Jerome, pairing a king master bedroom and full dining room for six with a living room furnished in leather and mountain views across Aspen. Hermes bath products, a deep soaking tub and a complimentary minibar complete the picture.
Further information
Dining

Prospect is the main restaurant, a Michelin Guide-listed room serving inventive, ingredient-led mountain cooking that moves out to the Garden courtyard in summer. The J-Bar, an 1889 saloon, is an Aspen institution for craft cocktails and the best burger in town. The Living Room handles relaxed après drinks and small plates, while Bad Harriet, a speakeasy beneath the old Aspen Times building, pours late-night cocktails.
Skiing

Aspen Snowmass gives skiers access to four separate mountains from a single base, covering everything from challenging black diamond runs to gentler trails suited to all levels. Hotel Jerome sits at the heart of it all, with an onsite ski concierge, complimentary shuttle to all four mountains, and a team that can arrange lift tickets before you even arrive.
Wellbeing

The Yarrow Spa is built specifically around the demands of high-altitude mountain life. Treatments use Rocky Mountain botanicals and are designed to restore hydration and balance after days on the slopes, with each guest receiving a complimentary botanical foot soak on arrival. A recent partnership with French skincare house Biologique Recherche adds serious credibility to the wellness offering.
USA
Getting Around The US is best navigated by a combination of air and ground transport. Domestic flights are frequent and reasonably priced, making them the practical choice for covering long distances, particularly between the coasts.
Our Experts
The thing about the USA is that it's just so diverse. It doesn't matter what you're looking for, you can find it in the USA. I personally love San Francisco because it's hotels are arty and luxurious at the same time.
There's nowhere quite like New York for an ultra-lux city break. I always recommend visiting in December for the dream Christmas experience, complete with high-end shopping, Broadway shows and walks in Central Park.
Stellar service. Stellar products. Stellar people and it gets so much better when you pick up the phone and call.

Luxury New Mexico: Santa Fe, Los Alamos & Breaking Bad Locations
Tailor-made VacationNew Mexico doesn't look like anywhere else in America, and it doesn't feel like it either. The light is different, the landscape is different, and the culture, shaped by centuries of Native American, Spanish colonial, and Anglo-American layering, sits apart from anything on the coasts. This itinerary runs three threads simultaneously.

Aspen in Winter: A Luxury Gay Ski Escape
Tailor-made VacationAspen is one of those places that rewards arriving with no particular agenda. It's one of the top luxury travel destinations in the USA. The skiing across four mountains is as good as anywhere in North America, but the town itself pulls equally hard: the restaurants are exceptional, the hotels are world-class, and the cultural life punches well above what you would expect from a mountain resort of this size.
