Seven nights at a single hillside estate, olive groves in every direction, and nowhere else on the schedule.

Most Andalusia itineraries move fast: Seville, Córdoba, Granada, and Ronda, each city allotted a day or two before the next. This one does the opposite.

A single week is spent based at a rural estate in the hills, with the surrounding towns treated as occasional excursions rather than a checklist. There is no transfer every morning, no new hotels to learn the layout of, and no sense of racing a schedule.

The result is a trip built around the texture of a single place, olive groves, whitewashed villages, and the particular quality of light in inland Andalusia, rather than the accumulation of sights. It rewards travelers who seek time to slow down, anchored by one space, rather than rushing between several destinations.

The estate itself, a working finca restored as a private retreat, anchors each day. A pool set into the hillside looks out over the groves below; unheated water is a relief through the warmer months, and a masseuse visits the treatment room on request rather than on a fixed schedule.

Mornings are unstructured. Afternoons might include a visit to a neighboring olive mill, a slow lunch in a nearby pueblo blanco, or nothing at all; the estate’s own hammocks and shaded courtyards are built for exactly that kind of afternoon, with evenings often ending on the terrace under a sky largely free of the light pollution that follows Andalusia’s more visited towns.

Ronda, forty minutes away, is available as a single day’s excursion rather than a base of its own.

In detail

? Don't forget that most of our itineraries can be totally customized. Our expert team will be able to talk you through all the options.

Days 1–2: Arrival

Arrive at the estate and settle in without an agenda.

The first day is deliberately empty: unpack, walk the grounds, and adjust to a pace with genuinely nowhere to be, a rarer thing on a first day than it sounds.

A second morning might bring a short walk into the surrounding hills before returning for a long, unhurried lunch on the terrace, with the rest of the day left open for whatever the pace of the estate suggests.

Days 1–2: Arrival

Days 3–5: The estate, at its own pace

Mornings stay open for reading, walking the estate’s own trails, or simply staying in.

A visit to a neighboring olive mill introduces the region’s oil production at a scale far removed from industrial agriculture, and a slow lunch in a nearby pueblo blanco fills an afternoon when the mood calls for it.

Evenings return to the estate for dinners built around whatever the kitchen garden and local producers provide that day.

Days 3–5: The estate, at its own pace

Day 6: Explore Ronda

A day trip to Ronda, perched above its own gorge, offers the one genuine excursion of the week, deliberately kept to a single day rather than a base of its own.

The town’s bridge over the gorge and its old Moorish quarter fill a morning, with lunch overlooking the ravine before the drive back to the estate in the early evening, so the town remains a visit rather than a second center of gravity for the trip.

Day 6: Explore Ronda

Day 7: Departure

A final unhurried morning at the estate, with no early transfer to rush toward and no packing done the night before out of habit rather than necessity.

A last walk through the olive groves or a final coffee on the terrace closes out the week before the journey home, bringing an end to a stay built around having nowhere else to be.

Day 7: Departure
