Spend a morning among the steaming pools Savusavu still cooks and bathes in, then join locals at the town market.
Hot Springs in the Middle of Town

Savusavu, on the southern coast of Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second-largest island, is a short domestic flight from Nadi or Suva. Its volcanic hot springs are not a spa. Small pools and steaming vents lie close to the town center, some loosely fenced off, others simply part of the ground between houses and gardens, and residents and market traders walk past them on everyday errands.
Pools for Cooking, Pools for Bathing

Your private guide takes you from pool to pool. Some are hot enough only for cooking; others suit bathing. Along the way you hear how the town has put its heated groundwater to use for generations. Temperatures vary a great deal, so your guide shows you which pools are safe and comfortable to get into.
Tell us how you like to travel. We will shape the trip around it.

Visiting privately gives you the chance to chat with whoever is using the springs that morning, instead of filing past them in a group. It’s a slower, more down-to-earth morning than any treatment menu, and much closer to how Savusavu itself sees its springs.
On to the Market

Many mornings finish at Savusavu’s market, looking over produce and handicrafts among local shoppers rather than other visitors.
Out Of Office arranges the guide and times the morning around market hours and the rest of your trip, whether you’re staying in Savusavu or coming in for the day from elsewhere on Vanua Levu. Our Fiji guide covers LGBTQ+ rights and travel advice as you plan.
The hard part is not finding a beautiful place. It is finding the right one for you.

A Private Sevusevu: The Kava Welcome at a Fijian Village
Arriving as a Guest In Fiji, you don't simply walk into a village. The customary way in is sevusevu: before anything else happens, visitors present kava root to the chief. Done privately, the ceremony moves at its own pace and ends in a shared bowl of kava, conversation and often a meal, a real welcome rather than a stop on a schedule. You reach the village by a short boat ride from your resort.

Diving Rainbow Reef’s Great White Wall, Taveuni, Fiji
A Reef That Runs on the Tide Rainbow Reef lies in the Somosomo Strait between Taveuni and Vanua Levu and is known for some of the most celebrated soft coral diving anywhere. Its signature site, the Great White Wall, falls away from about fifteen meters into a sheer face covered in white soft coral that, when the light is right, seems lit from inside.
