Begin in Marrakech, wandering through spice-scented souks and the tiled courtyards of ancient palaces. Then trade the city’s energy for the green folds of the Atlas, where the Berber Valley of Aït Bouguemez opens into terraced fields and stone villages that seem carved from the mountainside itself.
Trek through valleys where shepherds still move their flocks by hand. Visit villages where bread is baked in communal ovens and mint tea is poured from height. Sleep in guesthouses run by families who’ve lived here for generations, and wake to the sight of Mount M’goun rising over the ridgeline.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
Upon arrival in Marrakech, your private driver will whisk you away to a luxurious riad, where the fragrance of orange blossom and the sounds of the bustling medina greet you. After settling in, enjoy a leisurely evening, taking in the sights and sounds of the city at sunset. Have dinner in a beautiful riad, sampling traditional Moroccan dishes such as tagine or couscous, while preparing for your exciting and adventurous journey ahead.
Day 2: Marrakech Highlights
Explore the vibrant streets of Marrakech with a private guide who takes you to iconic landmarks such as the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Koutoubia Mosque. Stroll through the famed souks of the medina, where the vibrant colours of spices, textiles, and handcrafted goods entice your senses. Finish with a sunset cocktail in a rooftop bar overlooking the medina, soaking in the magical atmosphere of the Red City before you depart for the mountains.
Day 3: Marrakech to Aït Bouguemez - Into the Heart of the Atlas
Today, leave the city behind as you venture towards the High Atlas. Your journey takes you through winding mountain roads to the Berber Valley of Aït Bouguemez, known as the “Happy Valley.” Check into your boutique ecolodge, where the serenity of the valley’s lush green orchards and rugged landscapes provide the perfect setting for rest and relaxation. The evening is spent with a local family, enjoying a traditional Berber meal under the stars, allowing you experience authentic Moroccan life.
Day 4: Exploring Aït Bouguemez - Treks, Villages & Local Culture
Spend the day exploring the picturesque valley and its ancient Berber villages. Your guide will take you on a scenic trek through almond groves, past traditional adobe homes, and up to vantage points offering breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountains. Pause for a picnic at a charming local house, where you’ll learn about Berber traditions, food, and culture. This is an immersive day designed to connect deeply with both the landscape and the people of Aït Bouguemez.
Day 5: Mount M’goun Trek
A full-day trek awaits you today. Begin early, climbing through rugged terrain and experiencing the dramatic beauty of Mount M’goun, one of the highest peaks in the High Atlas. Your journey takes you to remote Berber villages and scenic valleys, offering glimpses of life untouched by time. Return to your ecolodge for a well-earned rest and a traditional Moroccan dinner served with local mint tea.
Day 6: Aït Bouguemez to Fès - From Mountains to Medina
After breakfast, depart Aït Bouguemez and head to Fès, a city of rich culture and history. On the way, stop in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” due to its alpine architecture and scenic landscapes. Arrive in Fès in the late afternoon and settle into your luxurious riad. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing dinner, sampling Fès’ famous cuisine, and unwind after a fulfilling journey through the Atlas.
Day 7: Fès Medina - A Step Back in Time
Explore the UNESCO-listed medina of Fès with a private guide, taking you through centuries-old streets and alleyways. Visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the world’s oldest continually operating university, and take in the intricate tile work and architecture in the Bou Inania Medersa. Enjoy a delicious lunch in a traditional riad courtyard before returning to your riad. This day allows you to immerse yourself in the essence of Morocco’s imperial past before preparing to head to your return flight home.
