This all-inclusive Peruvian journey brings together extraordinary biodiversity, ancient civilizations, and a fully chartered LGBT+ Amazon River cruise, culminating in an immersive Machu Picchu experience. Thoughtfully curated for travelers seeking depth as well as comfort, this is a journey that reveals Peru at its most captivating.
Begin in Lima, a sophisticated coastal capital celebrated for its culinary excellence and rich colonial heritage. Guided sightseeing introduces the city’s architectural landmarks and cultural foundations before flying north to Iquitos, gateway to the Amazon Basin. Here, embark on a privately chartered luxury river cruise aboard the Delfin III, one of the most elegant vessels on the Amazon. Designed for comfort and exploration, the ship offers spacious suites, refined service, and expert-led excursions by skiff deep into the rainforest, where wildlife, remote communities, and pristine ecosystems define each day.
After the cruise, continue to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, exploring remarkable archaeological sites and dramatic Andean landscapes before boarding a scenic train to Machu Picchu. Guided exploration of this legendary citadel reveals its history, symbolism, and enduring mystery. The journey concludes in Cusco with a stay at the historic Palacio del Inka, where guided visits to significant Inca and colonial sites provide meaningful context before departure.
More Information
Peru does not currently recognise same-sex marriage, though legal protections against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation exist in employment and public services. The legal landscape has been subject to ongoing political debate, and while progress has been slower than in neighbouring Argentina, Brazil and Chile, the direction of travel in the cities is broadly positive.
Lima is the most developed destination for LGBTQ+ travelers, with a visible gay scene concentrated in Miraflores, including bars, clubs and venues that are well established and openly welcoming. Cusco has a smaller but genuine gay-friendly scene, and the city’s character as an internationally visited destination means same-sex couples generally move through it without difficulty. Arequipa and other regional cities are more conservative in character.
For LGBTQ+ travelers staying within the luxury travel circuit, Lima, the Sacred Valley and Cusco, Peru is a comfortable and hospitable destination. Discretion is sensible in rural areas and smaller communities, but within the major destinations and the properties Out Of Office works with, the experience is consistently welcoming.
