Join a luxury tour of South Africa with a group of gay travellers and see the highlights. You set out on a 4-day safari at the stunning Lion Sands Private Game Reserve. With an open bar and gourmet meals to enjoy, you’ll be pursuing the Big 5 in style and discovering the magic of the African bush. You’ll also visit the majestic Victoria Falls where you’ll cruise down Zambezi River and stay in 5-star accommodation. One of the highlights of this trip will be a 25-minute helicopter ride over Victoria Falls.

You’ll then head to Cape Town, visit Signal Hill and taste South Africa’s finest at the Cape Winelands. You’ll also go for a tour of the Cape Peninsula, including the Cape Of Good Hope. This is a luxury trip: you’ll be staying in the best hotels and enjoying the highest standard of service throughout.

Group Trip Breakdown

Victoria Falls

Day 1: Johannesburg, South Africa to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Depending on what time your flight lands in Johannesburg, you’ll either spend a night in town or fly direct from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls. If you need to stay over let us know and we’ll book you a hotel room.

When you arrive in Victoria Falls you’ll go for a helicopter flight over the falls and a walking tour. Dinner and overnight in Victoria Falls.

Day 2: Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

This morning you can opt for a number of exhilarating optional tours, including a canopy tour, zip lining or, if you dare, the gorge swing. After lunch at the Lookout Cafe you’re free to explore at your own pace. Tonight you’ll be hopping on-board a luxury all-inclusive cruise along the Zambezi River.

Lion Sands Game Reserve

Day 3: Victoria Falls/Lion Sands Private Game Reserve, South Africa

We’ll transfer to Livingstone Airport in Zambia and fly to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport, Nelspruit. Our driver will meet us and transfer us to the lodge. After the first game drive you’ll have a welcome dinner at the lodge. All meals and drinks at the Lion Sands are included.

Gay Group Trip: Into Africa

Day 4: Lion Sands Private Game Reserve

Wake up bright and early for coffee and a sunrise game drive. Back at the lodge we’ll have a buffet breakfast and then you’ll go for a guided walking safari. After a late lunch it’ll be time to pursue the Big 5 on an afternoon game drive. We’ll then reflect on our sightings over dinner with a selection of local wines.

Day 5: Lions Sands Private Game Reserve

We’ll go for a morning safari after breakfast. Ask your guide about the Small 5. Breakfast back at the lodge and then feel free to unwind by the pool and indulge in some spa treatments. After an afternoon siesta, we’ll head out for a sunset game drive.

Day 6: Lion Sands Private Game Reserve

It’s our last day at the luxurious Lion Sands River Lodge. You can head out for a final game drive and keep an eye out for any of the Big 5 you may have missed. We’ll have a festive farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 7: Lions Sands Private Game Reserve/Cape Town, South Africa

Today we’ll fly to Cape Town (flight included). When we arrive at the capital, our guide will meet us and take us up Signal Hill. Here you’ll be greeted with panoramic views of the city. We’ll check into our luxury hotel on the V&A Waterfront – the swankiest district in Cape Town.

When you’ve settled into the hotel we’ll take a coach to the Green Point neighbourhood. After some interactive drumming, we’ll dine on classic South Africa cuisine accompanied by local cultural entertainment.

Day 8: Cape Town

Today we’ll go for a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula and visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Boulders Beach and Simons Town. Evening at leisure to enjoy Cape Town’s bustling nightlife.

Day 9: Cape Town

Wine lovers rejoice! We’ll be heading to South Africa’s fabled Winelands to sample some of the finest wines known to man. The main wine-producing areas are Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Two wine tastings and a lush picnic lunch at Warwick Wine Estate are included. Explore the local area at your own pace and then enjoy another evening in Cape Town.

Day 10: Cape Town

It’s our last full day in Cape Town. Enjoy a day at leisure and explore at your own pace. You can choose from a number of optional add-ons, including a Robben Island tour or a Table Mountain tour. We’ll have a farewell dinner at De Grendel estate.

Day 11: Departure

Your South African safari adventure draws to a close. You’ll be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
