Three very different rhythms in one trip: a city that never sleeps, an island shaped by ritual, and a quieter neighbor most travelers never reach.

Singapore anchors the trip’s opening days, a city whose ultra-modern skyline sits alongside a genuinely multicultural identity built over generations of migration and trade.

Marina Bay’s futuristic gardens, the iconic Merlion, and Orchard Road’s shopping district showcase the city’s more contemporary side.

Clarke Quay’s dining and nightlife scene runs from traditional street food to contemporary cuisine and lively gay bars.

A short flight reaches Bali, a striking contrast to Singapore’s density.

Ubud’s Monkey Forest and ancient temples, the rice terraces at Jatiluwih, and the sea temple of Tanah Lot showcase an island built around both adventure and serenity.

Bali has become genuinely comfortable ground for LGBTQ+ travelers, particularly around Seminyak and Ubud.

Lombok closes the trip with a more authentic, less-visited side of Indonesia.

Traditional villages, waterfalls, and the rice terraces around Rinjani National Park sit alongside the calm beaches of Senggigi, offering a quieter final stretch.

In detail

Day 1: Singapore

Arrive in Singapore, where the days ahead center on Marina Bay, the city’s contemporary heart and one of the most recognizable skylines in Asia.

A private transfer delivers you to your hotel, with the rest of the day left free to settle in after the flight.

Many travelers use the first evening for a walk along the Marina Bay waterfront, taking in the illuminated skyline and the first glimpse of the Merlion, Singapore’s half-lion, half-fish national symbol.

Day 1: Singapore

Day 2: Singapore

The day centers on Gardens by the Bay, where the space-age botanical domes house entire climate-controlled ecosystems, from Mediterranean scrubland to cloud forest.

The surreal Supertree Grove, a cluster of vertical gardens rising up to sixteen stories, becomes especially striking after dark.

The Garden Rhapsody light and sound show transforms the structures into a synchronized display of color and music.

The afternoon leaves room to explore at your own pace, whether that means Orchard Road’s shopping district or a quieter walk through the gardens themselves.

Day 2: Singapore

Day 3: Singapore

A day exploring the districts beyond Marina Bay, from Kampong Glam’s Arab Street, lined with textile shops and the golden-domed Sultan Mosque, to Little India’s temples, spice markets, and garland stalls.

The rooftop observation deck at Marina Bay Sands offers one of the best skyline views in the city, worth timing for sunset, when the light over the harbor turns the whole bay gold.

Clarke Quay’s restaurants and nightlife provide an easy way to close out the final evening in the city.

Day 3: Singapore

Day 4: Singapore to Bali

A short flight connects Singapore to Bali, where a private transfer reaches Ubud, the island’s cultural heart.

The shift in pace is immediate, from Singapore’s density and structure to the sound of rice paddies and jungle closing in around the road.

The remainder of the day is left free to settle into your surroundings and adjust to Bali’s slower rhythm.

Day 4: Singapore to Bali

Day 5 and 6: Ubud

Settle into Ubud and spend the first day at your own pace, beginning with the sacred Monkey Forest, home to hundreds of long-tailed macaques living among ancient banyan trees and moss-covered temple ruins.

Walking paths wind through the forest past stone carvings and small shrines, many still used for offerings today.

The second day is devoted to Ubud’s temples, several of which have hosted continuous Hindu worship for centuries, with carved stone entrances and tiered meru towers marking each site.

The rice terraces at Jatiluwih round out the day, a UNESCO-recognized landscape farmed under the centuries-old Subak irrigation system, its stepped paddies offering some of the most striking agricultural scenery anywhere on the island.

Day 5 and 6: Ubud

Day 7 and 8: Ubud

A visit to the sea temple of Tanah Lot, perched dramatically on a rock formation just offshore, opens this stretch, best timed for sunset when the temple’s silhouette stands out against the darkening sky.

The drive there passes through more of Bali’s rural interior, with rice paddies and small villages lining the road.

The final day is left free and shaped around your own preferences, whether that means a spa treatment, a yoga class, or simply time spent browsing Ubud’s markets and galleries before the journey continues to Lombok.

Day 7 and 8: Ubud

Day 9: Bali to Lombok

The journey continues to Lombok, Bali’s quieter neighbor, where the pace slows considerably from the moment you arrive.

The crossing itself offers views back toward Bali’s volcanic peaks.

The change in atmosphere on arrival, fewer visitors, simpler infrastructure, and a more unhurried way of life are noticeable almost immediately.

Day 9: Bali to Lombok

Day 10: Lombok

A final day exploring Lombok’s traditional villages, where farming and weaving traditions continue much as they have for generations.

The rice terraces around Rinjani National Park sit nearby, home to one of Indonesia’s most significant volcanoes.

Time on Senggigi’s calm beaches offers a quiet close to the trip before a private transfer to the airport for the departure flight.

Day 10: Lombok
