This itinerary covers two of French Polynesia’s most visited islands, Tahiti and Mo’orea, connected by a thirty-minute ferry crossing rather than an inter-island flight.
That makes it the least logistically demanding of the French Polynesia itineraries: no early departures built around a plane schedule, just a short crossing between two islands that are genuinely different from each other.
Tahiti serves as both the arrival point and a destination in its own right, offering black sand beaches and proximity to Papeete.
Mo’orea trades that for four nights against a backdrop of twin bays, mountain scenery, and a coral garden close enough to snorkel from the shore.
Bora Bora can be added as an optional extension, giving travelers who want the territory’s most iconic island a straightforward way to add it without restructuring the whole trip.

Day 1 – 4: Le Tahiti by Pearl Resorts
Set on Lafayette Beach along Tahiti’s northeast coast, Le Tahiti by Pearl Resorts sits directly on one of the island’s volcanic black sand beaches, with views across Matavai Bay. The resort is built within tropical gardens and is a seven-kilometer drive from central Papeete, close enough for a day spent exploring the city without needing to relocate for it.
Day 4 to 8: Hilton Mo'orea Lagoon Resort and Spa
A thirty-minute ferry crossing from Tahiti leads to Mo’orea and the Hilton, the island’s only five-star property, set between two bays with a mountain backdrop and a lagoon home to a substantial coral garden directly offshore. Rooms range from Garden Pool Bungalows, each with a private pool, to overwater villas set further out across the lagoon. A cultural program runs most afternoons, alongside a tennis court, spa, and several dining options on site.
Optional Add On: Bora Bora
Bora Bora can be added to this itinerary as an extension, part of French Polynesia’s Society Islands alongside Tahiti and Mo’orea rather than a side trip within Tahiti itself. The island is best known for its overwater bungalows and the lagoon surrounding Mount Otemanu, and can be arranged as anything from a two-night stopover to a full third leg of the trip.
