At a glance
Tahiti, Taha'a, and Bora Bora each hold a different overwater bungalow experience, and this itinerary moves through all three. It suits a honeymoon or a straightforward romantic escape equally well, without needing to be framed as one or the other.
The trip opens with a single night on Tahiti, enough time to recover from the flight before continuing on.

Taha'a follows for three nights at Le Taha'a Island Resort and Spa, a Relais & Châteaux property on its own private motu with Bora Bora visible across the water.
The trip closes with three nights on Bora Bora itself, in an overwater bungalow beneath Mount Otemanu, at a resort running its own turtle sanctuary and ecological center on-site.
Why this combination works
Taha'a and Bora Bora sit close enough together that Le Taha'a's own resort looks directly across the water at Bora Bora's silhouette, so the two islands function almost as a matched pair rather than a long transfer apart.
Pairing them means every overwater night on this trip comes with two distinct views of the same water, rather than one. Tahiti's single opening night earns its place too: it absorbs the jet lag and the international flight before either of the more remote islands, so neither of the overwater stays starts with a tired first day. The result is a short, tightly sequenced trip that spends nearly all of its time in the water rather than in transit.

Day 1 to 2: Hotel Le Meridien Tahiti 4*
Le Méridien is the only hotel on Tahiti built directly on a white sand beach, with views across the water to Mo’orea. A 2010 renovation brought the interiors up to a more contemporary standard, and the hotel sits close enough to central Papeete, the Museum of Tahiti and the Islands, and the Atimaono golf course to make a single night here worthwhile beyond simply recovering from the flight.
Day 2 to 5: Hotel Le Taha'a Island Resort and Spa 5*
Le Taha’a sits on its own private motu, Motu Tautau, with Taha’a itself on one side and an open view across the channel to Bora Bora on the other. As a member of Relais & Châteaux, the resort is built around Polynesian architecture and a private setting reached only by boat, with no other properties on the motu.
Day 5 to 8: Hotel Le Meridien Bora Bora
Le Méridien sits on its own islet within Bora Bora’s lagoon, with views across to Mount Otemanu. The resort runs its own turtle sanctuary on-site, one of the few in the world dedicated specifically to hawksbill and green turtles, alongside an ecological center focused on the surrounding reef.

You will begin in Tahiti, the territory's cultural and geographic heart, before crossing the Sea of the Moon to Moorea, where jagged volcanic peaks rise directly behind the lagoon.
