At a glance
Banyan Tree Phuket sits within Laguna Phuket, a 600-acre resort complex on the northwest coast of Phuket bordering Bang Tao Beach, a 20-minute drive from Phuket International Airport.
The complex includes six palm-fringed lagoons, three kilometers of beach, and an 18-hole golf course shared across the destination.
Within this setting, Banyan Tree Phuket occupies its own section of the complex with 218 all-pool villas built in a style drawing on traditional Thai architecture, connected by pathways through the lagoons and gardens. The resort opened in 1995 and the Banyan Tree Spa, which began here, has since become one of the most recognized spa brands in Asia.
The all-villa structure means the resort functions more like a collection of private retreats than a conventional hotel, with villa hosts, in-villa dining, and a scale of space that few properties in Phuket can match.

Highlights
- 218 all-pool villas within Laguna Phuket’s 600-acre complex.
- Six restaurants including Saffron, TRE, and Rava Beach Club.
- Banyan Tree Spa, 18-hole golf course, and beach club.
Accommodation
Pool Villa
Pool Villas are available in one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom configurations, each with a contemporary take on traditional Thai design, large windows, and a private pool.
The interiors draw on Thai art and fine woodwork, with each villa providing a secluded space within the resort’s tropical gardens. One-bedroom villas are suited to couples, two and three-bedroom configurations to families or groups who want additional space and privacy within the same villa.
Spa Pool Villa
Spa Pool Villas are an adults-only category set beside a lagoon, each with a private pool and an in-villa wellness program built around daily rituals inspired by Thai traditions.
Treatments, meals, and activities are curated around relaxation and restoration within the villa, with in-villa dining and massages organized throughout the stay without the need to leave the private space.
Double Pool Villa
The 26 DoublePool Villas sit in a secluded corner of the resort, each covering 1,300 square meters with a 15-meter infinity pool and a bedroom that floats on a wading pool overlooking the lagoon. A personal villa host is assigned for the duration of the stay.
The villas draw on Thai riverside living traditions, with a coconut vendor arriving by boat each day and a daily bale juice welcome. TRE, the collection’s own restaurant, sits within the hamlet alongside a higher level of privacy than the main villa collection.

Thailand
Thailand occupies the heart of mainland Southeast Asia, bordered by Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, with coastlines on both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. The country divides naturally into four distinct areas: the capital Bangkok; the mountainous north centered on Chiang Mai; the Gulf islands, including Koh Samui and Koh Phangan; and the Andaman coast with Phuket, Krabi, and the Trang archipelago.
