Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort is a five-star beachfront resort on Bophut Beach, a short walk from Fisherman’s Village.
The resort runs along Bophut Beach on the north coast of Koh Samui, on the site of an old coconut plantation, with Bill Bensley-designed gardens, lily ponds, and a beachfront infinity pool. Around 106 rooms and suites mix contemporary and southern Thai style, most with a garden or sea outlook.
Rooms range from garden-view doubles to beachfront pool suites, including a two-bedroom for families. Dining has been refreshed lately, led by Guilty, a South American grill, with southern Thai at Thin Tai and lighter plates at the TĀN beach lounge.
It suits couples, gay or straight, on a honeymoon or beach break, but it is family-friendly too, with a kids’ club, pools, watersports, and even pets welcome. Fisherman’s Village, with its bars and restaurants, is a short stroll along the sand, and the airport is about 15 minutes away.

Dining
The dining lineup has been reworked recently. Guilty is the new signature, a South American grill, while Thin Tai handles southern Thai cooking and the TĀN beach lounge does lighter plates and drinks by the infinity pool. The kitchen will also set up private Dining by Design on the beach, and Fisherman’s Village adds dozens more options a short walk away.
Wellness
The Anantara Spa is the wellness centerpiece, designed by Bill Bensley across 3,000 square meters of garden and lotus ponds, with standalone treatment suites, al fresco tubs, and a steam room for treatments and longer wellness packages. Beyond it, the resort keeps people busy with a beachfront infinity pool, a gym, tennis, beach yoga, and Muay Thai, plus watersports off the sand.
Location
Anantara is on Bophut Beach, on the calmer north coast of Koh Samui, on a stretch of sand that looks across the Gulf to Koh Phangan. The draw is the balance: a quiet beachfront, but a short walk along the sand to Fisherman’s Village, the old Chinese-Thai shophouse quarter packed with restaurants, bars, and a Friday night market. Samui Airport is about 15 minutes by car.
