Days 1–2: Arrival in Geneva and Transfer to Montreux

Your journey begins with your arrival in Geneva, Switzerland’s international gateway and a city set between lake and mountains. After clearing arrivals, you are met and privately transferred along the shores of Lake Geneva to Montreux, a refined resort town known for its Belle Époque architecture and relaxed atmosphere.

These first days are intentionally gentle, allowing time to recover from travel while settling into Switzerland. Montreux’s lakeside promenade is ideal for unhurried walks, with views stretching across the water toward snow-dusted Alpine peaks. Cafés, flower-lined paths, and a calm pace of life set the tone for the journey ahead.

Days 1–2: Arrival in Geneva and Transfer to Montreux

Days 3–4: Montreux and Lake Geneva

With Montreux as your base, you have time to explore the wider Lake Geneva region. A highlight of this stay is a visit to the Château de Chillon, Switzerland’s most iconic castle, dramatically positioned on the edge of the lake. Its towers, ramparts, and historic interiors offer insight into the region’s medieval past, all set against an extraordinary natural backdrop.

The remainder of your time is free to enjoy Montreux at leisure. Whether dining by the lake, relaxing at your hotel, or simply taking in the changing winter light across the water, these days are about slowing down and enjoying Switzerland’s quieter side.

Days 3–4: Montreux and Lake Geneva

Days 5–7: Scenic Rail Journey to Bern

Leaving Lake Geneva behind, you travel by scenic rail to Bern, the capital of Switzerland and one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval cities. The journey itself is part of the experience, offering views of rolling countryside and Alpine foothills along the way.

Bern’s historic old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, defined by arcaded streets, sandstone buildings, and the gentle curve of the River Aare that encircles the city. Staying in a centrally located hotel allows you to explore largely on foot. Time here is a balance of guided insight and independent discovery, with opportunities to visit museums, browse boutiques, and enjoy the city’s relaxed café culture.

Days 5–7: Scenic Rail Journey to Bern

Days 8–9: Bern at Leisure

These days are dedicated to experiencing Bern at a slower pace. The city offers a distinctly local feel, providing a contrast to the glamour of Montreux and the energy of Zurich later in the journey. Wandering the old town, crossing historic bridges, and taking in river views all contribute to Bern’s understated charm.

With no need to rush, you are free to tailor these days to your interests, whether cultural, culinary, or simply observational.

Days 8–9: Bern at Leisure

Days 10–11: Zurich, Culture and Contemporary Switzerland

From Bern, you continue by rail to Zurich, Switzerland’s largest city and cultural centre. Here, medieval guild houses and cobbled streets coexist with modern architecture, luxury shopping, and one of Europe’s most exciting dining scenes.

Your hotel is well positioned for exploring both the old town and the lakefront. Days can be spent strolling Bahnhofstrasse, exploring Zurich’s historic quarters, or enjoying lakeside walks. Depending on the season, there may also be opportunities to visit festive markets or take short excursions to nearby viewpoints for sweeping Alpine scenery.

Days 10–11: Zurich, Culture and Contemporary Switzerland

Day 12: Departure from Zurich

On your final day, you transfer to Zurich Airport for your onward journey. After nearly two weeks immersed in Swiss landscapes, culture, and history, the journey concludes with a smooth and seamless departure.
