Lisbon: A Capital Built for Discovery
Lisbon rewards people who like to wander. The city is compact enough to cross on foot in a day, from the grand plazas of Baixa and Chiado to the steep, tile-lined streets of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest district and a must for anyone drawn to history and atmosphere over checklists. Fado drifts out of tucked-away taverns in the evening, seafood is some of the best in Europe, and the light across the Tagus at sunset is reason enough to book the trip.

It suits a shorter, more intimate break, or a natural second stop after a few nights in Lisbon.
