Folklore runs through them: Hag’s Head is named for a mythical hag who leapt into the sea, and O’Brien’s Tower was built in the nineteenth century as a viewpoint for early tourists. In the surrounding Burren, ancient stone walls tell of early farming, and archaeological sites date back to the Neolithic.
