Villa Ardore is a meticulously restored 16th-century estate based in the rolling hills of Tuscany, where guests relish refined luxury. You can delight in culinary escapades, immerse yourself in Europe’s premier art and theater, or simply soak in the tranquility of the Tuscan countryside through a tailored itinerary crafted for unforgettable memories. Better yet, it’s a gay-owned property, which makes it a fantastic choice for Out Of Office clients.
This villa first started life as a watchtower defending the valley between Siena and Florence. It has since evolved into an eight-bedroom Chianti luxury villa, boasting modern comforts and amenities.
Here, you can begin your day with fresh produce from the estate hens and culinary gardens, then bask in the Tuscan sun by the heated infinity pool. Indulge in the private onsite spa, featuring massage facilities, a whirlpool, a sauna, and a sensory shower. Conclude your day with a gourmet evening meal crafted with estate products, expertly prepared by a professional chef, and complemented by some of Tuscany’s finest hand-picked wines from our cellar.

Italy offers a mix of progress and challenges when it comes to LGBTQ+ rights. LGBTQ+ individuals benefit from anti-discrimination laws that protect against bias based on sexual orientation and gender identity, and same-sex couples have had access to civil unions since 2016. These unions provide many of the legal rights associated with marriage, such as inheritance and hospital visitation. However, same-sex marriage itself is not recognized, and joint adoption rights for same-sex couples remain unavailable, reflecting gaps in full equality.
In recent years, the political landscape has become more conservative, with policies that complicate family recognition for LGBTQ+ individuals. This includes restrictions on surrogacy, both domestically and abroad, which have disproportionately impacted same-sex couples looking to start families. Despite these setbacks, public opinion is gradually becoming more supportive of LGBTQ+ rights, driven by younger generations and urban communities.
Major cities like Rome, Milan, and Naples are home to vibrant LGBTQ+ scenes, with inclusive nightlife, annual Pride events, and a growing cultural acceptance. These urban hubs provide welcoming spaces for the LGBTQ+ community, offering opportunities for connection and celebration. However, attitudes in smaller towns and rural areas can still reflect the country’s traditional and religious roots.
Italy’s blend of progress and challenges makes it a unique case in Europe. While there is much to celebrate in terms of visibility and community support, continued advocacy is essential to achieve full equality. LGBTQ+ travelers can enjoy the country’s rich history, culture, and welcoming atmosphere in its major cities, where inclusivity shines the brightest.
