This 11-day Luxury Eco Escape itinerary travels through four distinct regions of Thailand, beginning in Bangkok, continuing north to Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai, and finishing on the quiet island of Koh Yao Noi in Phang Nga Bay. It is designed to highlight the contrast between Thailand’s urban centres, rural highlands and island landscapes, while keeping travel time efficient and the overall pace relaxed.

The journey begins in Bangkok, combining time to explore temples, canals and neighbourhoods with the comfort of a riverside luxury hotel.

From there, you fly north to Chiang Rai for a nature-led stay in the Golden Triangle, before continuing overland to Chiang Mai, where historic temples, local culture and northern cuisine take centre stage.

The final days are spent in Koh Yao Noi, an unspoilt island known for its calm beaches and eco-conscious luxury, offering a slower conclusion to the trip.

Accommodation is pre-arranged at high-end, eco-conscious hotels and resorts, with private transfers and selected experiences included. The itinerary balances structured travel with free time and is well suited to couples, honeymoons or travellers looking to experience different sides of Thailand without rushing between destinations.

Days 1-2: Bangkok

Your journey begins in Bangkok, where modern city life sits alongside centuries of history. After arriving, you are transferred to a riverside luxury hotel, offering a calm retreat from the city’s energy. Bangkok serves as an ideal introduction to Thailand, with time to explore temples, canals and neighbourhoods, as well as space to enjoy rooftop bars, spas and some of the country’s most celebrated dining.

The days here are deliberately flexible. You may choose to visit landmark sites such as the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, explore the city by boat along the Chao Phraya River, or simply enjoy the facilities of your hotel. Bangkok’s scale and variety make it a compelling starting point, with its excellent infrastructure allowing for an easy exploration of the city and surrounding area.

Days 1-2: Bangkok

Days 3-4: Chiang Rai

From Bangkok, you fly north to Chiang Rai and continue by river to a secluded tented camp set in the Golden Triangle, where Thailand meets Laos and Myanmar. This remote region is defined by misty mountains, jungle landscapes and winding rivers, offering a complete contrast to the capital.

Your stay here is all-inclusive and nature-focused, with guided activities that may include walking trails through rural villages, cycling in the surrounding countryside, or learning about the region’s ecology. A key part of the experience is time spent with rescued elephants, emphasising conservation and education rather than performance. Accommodation blends comfort with immersion, allowing you to experience the environment without sacrificing privacy or service.

Days 3-4: Chiang Rai

Days 5-6: Chiang Mai

Travelling south by road, you arrive in Chiang Mai, the cultural heart of northern Thailand and former capital of the Lanna Kingdom. The city is known for its historic old town, distinctive architecture and slower pace, making it an ideal place to explore northern traditions and cuisine.

Your time here is relaxed, with opportunities to visit temples, browse local markets, or enjoy the city’s growing food and art scenes. Optional experiences range from river journeys and village encounters to early-morning hot air balloon flights over the countryside. Chiang Mai also offers excellent wellness facilities, making it easy to combine sightseeing with rest.

Days 5-6: Chiang Mai

Days 7-10: Koh Yao Noi

The final stage of the journey takes you south to Phuket and onward by boat to Koh Yao Noi, a quiet island set among the limestone formations of Phang Nga Bay. Far removed from mass tourism, the island is known for its traditional communities, mangroves and calm beaches.

Staying in a private pool villa at an eco-focused luxury resort, the emphasis here is on slowing down. Days are largely unstructured, allowing time for swimming, kayaking, spa treatments or boat trips through the surrounding bay. The setting provides a peaceful conclusion to the journey, with privacy, space and views across the Andaman Sea.

Days 7-10: Koh Yao Noi

Day 11: Departure

After breakfast, you return by boat and private transfer to Phuket Airport for your onward journey, concluding a well-paced route through Thailand’s cities, highlands and islands.
