At a glance
Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle sits at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers, at the point where northern Thailand borders Myanmar and Laos, on a hillside above the bamboo jungle of the Golden Triangle.
The camp has 15 tents and one Explorer’s Lodge, accommodating a maximum of around 30 guests at any one time. Every stay is all-inclusive, covering meals, beverages, spa treatments, elephant experiences, and round-trip airport transfers from Chiang Rai International Airport. Arrival is by long-tail boat along the Ruak River, which sets the character of the experience before guests reach the camp itself.
The camp works with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation to rescue elephants from abuse or compromised circumstances, and the herd that lives at the camp is central to the stay. A Camp Host is assigned to each guest, curating the daily schedule across more than 30 available activities.

Highlights
- All-inclusive luxury camp of 15 tents and a lodge
- Rescued elephants cared for by the Golden Triangle Elephant Foundation
- Overlooks the Ruak River where Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet
Accommodation
Bamboo Tent
The Bamboo Tent opens with a handcrafted teak door into a private sanctuary inspired by the culture of Northern Thailand, with rustic wooden furnishings, hardwood floors, a thatched roof, and a living area. Each tent has a private balcony, air conditioning, a minibar, and a custom-made wooden hot tub on the outdoor deck overlooking the jungle.
Elevated Tent
The Elevated Tent sits higher on the hillside with sweeping views of the surrounding bamboo jungle, a private veranda, a wooden hot tub on the deck, and the same Northern Thai design language as the Bamboo Tent. The position gives a broader outlook over the jungle canopy and the rivers below.
Explorer's Lodge
The Explorer’s Lodge is the most complete accommodation at the camp, with expansive living spaces, a private tree-fringed infinity pool, a lamplit veranda, and sweeping views of the bamboo jungle. It is designed for families or small groups who want the most private and complete experience the camp offers.

Nong Yao Restaurant
Nong Yao Restaurant serves Thai, Laotian, Burmese, and Western dishes from all three Golden Triangle countries, with dinner available as a private barbecue, a five-course formal dinner, or a campfire dinner at Elephant Camp.
Burma Bar
Burma Bar sits on an open deck overlooking the Ruak River, with views across into Myanmar at sunset. The bar serves cocktails, including a mixology session during which the team creates personalized drinks for guests.
Wine Cellar
A wine cellar beneath Burma Bar offers pre-dinner tastings of local and international wines paired with artisanal cheeses.
Spa & Wellness

The Jungle Spa sits among bamboo forest in two open-air salas, each with double treatment rooms, spa beds, a bathtub, and a shower area. Treatments draw on ancient wellness rituals of the Golden Triangle region. A riverside free-form pool overlooks the Ruak River with a canopy of bamboo trees providing shade.
Activities

Guests can choose from over 30 activities across the stay, with a Camp Host curating the daily schedule around individual interests.
Elephant experiences are central to the program, with morning bathing rituals, jungle walks with the herd led by mahout guides, and breakfast served alongside the elephants.
River expeditions by long-tail boat cover the Ruak River and the broader Golden Triangle waterways. Jungle treks, archery, cooking classes, fishing, traditional craft classes with hill tribe communities, and a half-day excursion to the Myanmar border town of Tachilek are all available.
Thailand
Thailand occupies the heart of mainland Southeast Asia, bordered by Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, with coastlines on both the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea. The country divides naturally into four distinct areas: the capital Bangkok; the mountainous north centered on Chiang Mai; the Gulf islands, including Koh Samui and Koh Phangan; and the Andaman coast with Phuket, Krabi, and the Trang archipelago.
