Los Cabos doesn’t have the abundance of gay venues found in Puerto Vallarta, but it’s known to be very popular with gay travelers. Chandelier’s Night Club serves as Los Cabos’ primary LGBTQ+ venue, featuring drag performers, go-go dancers, and music from your favorite pop divas.
Several resorts are specifically recognized as LGBTQ+-friendly, including ME Cabo, which has been named a “Committed Queer Destinations Hotel.” The property features a sophisticated-but-fun atmosphere with a popular rooftop Skybar.
The destination attracts LGBTQ+ travelers seeking luxury and sophistication rather than a specifically gay party scene. Gay-friendly venues include Sur Beach House for beachside vibes and Mandala Club for upmarket nightlife.
Riviera Maya has emerged as very gay-friendly, especially in tourist areas. The region provides a welcoming atmosphere where LGBTQ+ couples can express themselves openly without concern.
The region has become increasingly progressive, with same-sex marriage legalized in Quintana Roo in 2012, making it an ideal destination for LGBTQ+ weddings. Playa del Carmen hosts an annual Pride festival in June, featuring parades, parties, and events that attract LGBTQ+ tourists globally.
While there are no officially designated gay hotels, many adults-only resorts are particularly welcoming.
